Khadgar
In case you had not noticed, I am guessing the card’s star rating in terms of how much play it will see in the upcoming meta, not based of what the hearthstone topdecks rating will be.
Sludge Slurper
5 Stars
In my opinion, the best lackey minion out there. The turn one 2/1 followed by turn 2 curve into lackey is not only a high value start because you haven’t lost card advantage, but a high tempo start as the lackey’s effect is usually quite strong. I see it being ran as a (dare i say) better firefly. Its also 2 spells for 1 card generator with hagatha hero card (just like fire fly). The only way i see this being worse than firefly is if you murloc boi dies before turn 2 and your lackey is either goblin or witchey lackey (both requiring a minion on board to be good), meaning your turn 2 play is a lot worse. Its also obviously not as good against odd paladin with the 1 health, but thats going out of standard now so the 2/1 more aggressive stat line is potentially better.
Notably the firefly’s potential to activate elemental synergy is something this card lacks. However most elemental synergy is going out with ungoro.
5 Stars as a great 1 drop in a probably tier 1 or 2 deck.

1 Star.
Essentially pack filler.
Maybe when cooler lackey’s come out it will see play.

Effect doesn’t seem good enough to justify destroying a minion.

4 mana combo with pyromancer for a worse spirit lash in paladin.
Makes immortal prelate a true minion version of old kingsbane, but with spike ridged steed going out, its probably not going to be very viable.
On average its like potion of heroism, except it draws a bad-mediocre card instead.
2 Stars, will see light experimentation in an immortal prelate deck, mostly niche play.
Never Surrender!

Actually one of the better paladin secrets. However with divine favor rotating out (as well as other cards), secret paladin will probably be dead.
1 Star, decent secret with not enough support.

Sure, its a river crock with benefits, but right now the benefits are just, “meh”. It only works with spells, so the only cards that are even remotely good are wrath and starfall (which may become druids only control option with spreading plague leaving). Is 7 mana deal 2 damage to all enemies which adds two pretty bad cards to your hand any good? I honestly don’t think so. Its pretty decent with wrath, but thats about it. For this to become remotely playable, there needs to be more good “choose one” spells. Until then this is just a worse Fandral, that only works on spells, in a time where druid has lost all its power. 1 Star.
Unleash the Beast
Honestly, without hyena, springpaw is just a 1 mana deal 1 which adds a 1 mana deal 1 to your hand. The “your beasts have 1+ attack” synergies are essentially just a spell damage totem to this. Winning against a midrange hunter often comes down to whether or not he has springpaw + hyena. Unleash the beast does not have synergy with hyena (for obvious reasons).

There are around 8 okay cards, 11 great cards and 10 really bad cards you could get from this (currently).
So on average you will get to pick a really good card. The more aggressive statline (compared to stonehill) makes the lack of taunt less of a problem. A very decent card, will see decent amounts of play, but not always played, in most likely tier 2 decks.

Extremely powerful effect on a 2 drop is the kind of card that always sees play, how much play? Probably only in tier two decks with mage losing vital cards like dragon’s fury and frost lich Jaina.
I will note that the potential of Janalai + Khadgar is disgustingly strong, but with the loss of Baku, its much harder to pull of Janalai.

Worse stats than “YUMMIES AND BUBBLIES”, a card which only ever saw play in even warlock as a filler card to keep the deck together.
The only benefit this card has over the aforementioned card, is that it won’t induce nightmares into my soul with its attack sound.
1 Star, won’t see play
Unidentified Contract

Very strong card.
We could value this card as: destroy a minion (5 mana) + draw a card (1 mana) + play a 2 mana card.
So its about 8 mana worth of stuff for only 5 mana.
However, I dont see a control rogue being very viable at all without significant help from new class healing effects, until then this is a 3 star card as a card that is very strong in a tier 3 deck. If control rogue gets the support it needs to become tier 1, it will run this card, making it 5 stars.

Its an okay card. But that’s the problem. It has nothing obviously unfair or powerful about it. Pick it in arena when you see it, otherwise it probably will only see a very small amount of play in constructed.
2 Stars as a card that sees small amounts of play.
I know that’s why I said “old” ancient of lore.
