Saviors of Uldum Card Reviews #6 - Embalming Ritual, Shadow of Death, Siamat, King Phaoris, Wretched Reclaimer, Activate the Obelisk, Bazaar Burglary and More!
Not posting a lot of comments, but I‘ve to: kudos for these well-written reviews!
Are Genn Greymane and Baku the Mooneater too strong?
Dean Ayala clearly stated that they‘re validating options and one of them is to make less/weaker cards for strong Baku/Genn classes.
And as you already said the same amount of cards was already nerfed just because of Baku/Genn as for other reasons.
I don‘t know, but I prefer to nerf 2 cards instead of 6 (and more in the future)!
Are Genn Greymane and Baku the Mooneater too strong?
Keeping them in the game for another year means every card for Odd/Even class (Warrior, Paladin, Mage, Rogue, Warlock, Shaman and to some extend Hunter) will be balanced around Genn/Baku.
Especially for Paladin with good Even AND Odd archtypes, this would lead to 3 really sad expansions in 2019.
I really like the concept of Genn and Baku, but nerfing XX cards in the upcoming sets just because of them just not to adress those TWO sounds injustified.
I would prefer to just nerf them a little bit down, bit honestly I see only two options that lead to exciting expansions:
– move them to the hall of fame
– nerf them to the ground
tldr; So many cards were already nerfed because of them, now I prefer to nerf Genn and Baku than any additional card or than making upcoming cards weaker because of their existence.
Which Hearthstone Cards Should Get An Alternative Version In The Future?
I beliebe Dr. Boom, Mad Genius is what Mimiron should‘ve been. Would love to see Mimiron as a card with some crazy „do not push this button“ chaos effect!
Nice read btw, thumbs up!
The Best Class Hearthstone Legendaries - Which Class Legendary Minions Were Strongest?
If you mention Shudderwock, you‘ve to mention his bigger brother Master Yogg, too. He was so insanely strong, that he found a spot in nearly every pre-nerf deck as a last option to turn the game.
Liked to read through this article a lot, despite it‘s heavy focus on Standard decks / this year meta.
I‘m missing Yogg, N‘Zoth, Sylvanas, Ragnaros, Alexstraza and Malygos (not in any particular order).
#1 Legend Control Odd Warrior (Machamp)
How do you win against Shudderwock / Mecha‘thun decks?
Just asking because I‘m piloting a similar version between rank 1000 and 3000 and my winrate against Wock and Thun is at 10-20%…
I don‘t use Rover, Whirlwind and MCT, but all 3 don‘t help against those decks… ?
Is a Combo Meta Good for the Game?
It‘s not about aggro OR combo meta, right now it‘s aggro AND combo. Combo decks simply replaced control versions, as control decks loose to combo bevause it‘s easier to get the combo together as against aggro.
Second this article, as it is super boring to either aggro your opponent down or they outlast you long enough to gather their combo.
Both are auto-pilot strategies. I prefer smart use of trades and removals to gain control over the board, but board control isn‘t that important anymore it seems. Hello arena!

I’ll trying a more Dr. Boom oriented control version with Baku.
We will see how strong this version of Dr. 7 will be.

3 Mana 3/4 with Beast Tag is already playable. On top an effect that can fit to a decks strategy. I like how many cards in this set are playable so far!
Why are there no stormwind cards in standard packs!?
