Twin Slice and Battlegrounds Balance Changes Are Now Live!

A new patch just went through and the changes announced yesterday went live. We’re getting one (pretty important) Constructed change – both parts of Twin Slice now costs 1 mana and deals 2 damage. This should make cards that often used it as an activator (such as Battlefiend, Satyr Overseer, Glaivebound Adept or Altruis the Outcast) less consistent.

At the same time, we’ve also got a bunch of Battlegrounds changes – 3 minions and 3 Hero Powers. Here’s a quick reminder:

Card Update

Twin Slice

  • Old: [Cost 0] Give your hero +1 Attack this turn. Add ‘Second Slice’ to your hand → New: [Cost 1] Give your hero +2 Attack this turn. Add ‘Second Slice’ to your hand.

Second Slice

  • Old: [Cost 0] Give your hero +1 Attack this turn. → New: [Cost 1] Give your hero +2 Attack this turn.

Golden Twin Slice will be eligible for a full dust refund for two weeks after the 17.4.1 patch goes live.

    The battlegrounds changes are very welcomed. the last few days it was getting ridiculous, evryone going for the same strategy was boring and it was actually a relief when beasts were out of the roster cos the game was finally different for once.. Now getting big saurolisks is still possible, but much less oppresive. Same goes for strategies that use golden/multiple mackaws along with a powerfull stat DR + Baron. It can still be done, but its less common/harder to do. i havnt tested the buffed heroes yet tho, i think all three buffs are justified. One thing i think they should do now, is nerf Captain Hooktusk, Her HP is just insanely good, the fact that is a Discover AND it cost 0 mana, AND you have some control on the mana cost of the minion is just too much.

    Perhaps the most brutal nerf for the class and right now is unplayable. The nerf affects “Atruis” very hard and that was Blizzard’s purpose. Also, you cant take the lead on 3 mama with Satyr and on 5 mana with Glaivebound. You must wait a turn and for an aggro deck, this is the worst nightmare. At the moment, Mage can kill you without any problems. And that matchup was the best for DH. Mages have all the time to beat you.
    Totally unnecessary nerf. DH was “Ok to mediocre” and now it’s unplayable. The mastermind Team 5 did an excellent job once again..

      You realize DH had the highest winrate across tiers second only to Highlander Hunter, right? For a mostly free deck, it was busted af.

    Played some DH post patch (7.5k to 5.5k).
    So the early game is slightly worse, you may need to wait a turn with satyr. However you can still use 1 twin slice to kill a 2 defense minion (like battlefiend and battemage) so that’s just as powerful as before (hero power + twin slice). It affects altruis obviously. But in the late game it’s actually a buff especially with warglavies.
    I don’t play wild, but I can imagine it’s a huge buff for odd demon hunter.
