Trial by Felfire is Coming on June 9! Pirates in Battlegrounds, Story Adventure, Free Packs from Legendary Quests

Just like every year between the 1st and 2nd expansion, we’ll be getting a Midsummer Fire Festival. This time, because of the recent Demon Hunter class release, it will be called “Trial by Felfire” and will be DH-themed. Here’s what’s coming over the next few weeks:

  • Week 1 (June 9) Pirates enter the Battlegrounds roster, follow the link to read more about it. Minion type rotation has been added – at the start of each BG match, one of the types will get excluded from the pool for that match.
  • Week 2 (June 16) – Trial by Felfire single player adventure. Experience the story of Aranna Starseeker (Elise’s sister!) – fight against Mecha-Jaraxxus and the Rusted Legion with premade decks. Aranna Starseeker will also join Battlegrounds roster as a hero. She will also get her own card bundle with cosmetic DH Hero.
  • Week 3 (June 23) – Trial by Felfire Challenges adventure. Instead of premade decks, show off your deck building skills and fight the iconic Burning Crusade bosses with your own decks. Players will be able to get a golden copy of Kael'thas Sunstrider for completing it. Additionally, “The Burndown” Tavern Brawl will make a comeback.
  • Week 4 (July 1) – A new Brawl called “Rumbledome” will take place, in which players take roles of Rusted Legion henchmen and fight against each other.

We will also get three Legendary Quests (starting June 17), rewarding a total of 9 card packs over the course of the event.

Today I didn’t receive the legendary quest, even though I had a free slot.
I was among players who could not get the reward of the previous legendary quest. Are there other players in the same situation?

Hi all. Am I the only to have complete the first chapter without completing the quest? Can it because I finished chapter I before the quest appears?

Do you know if they are going to print the replacement cards for the ones that went to hall of fame?

No info yet, but I imagine that they will do it at one point.

Yeah, but we knew that for a long time. Galakrond’s Awakening was a one-time thing that they won’t repeat every expansion.

We can always hope. Last year at similar time we got a mech event with some buffs and Sn1p-Sn4p. Would be fun to see something similar.

sadly there is no goal in completing the Adventure.
Pretty disappointed that there is no Heroic Card Back to collect…

Quite busy in upcoming weeks, and when it ended in july, we surely be teased by new expansion in the following weeks. Can’t wait to see it.
    As I said, quite busy.

Sadly, no gold quest this time. only packs and free golden kael’thas.
Luckily the solo adventure is free.

And not to mention Runeterra getting pretty popular nowadays.

No free gold (except 2 quests) like before, because of Tavern Pass. 🙂 Yes, we get dust (packs), but – less packs on day1 in August. Probably, because of numerous nerfs, season rewards and the new system with epic cards. I’m not complaining myself (have a lot of resources), just saying how Blizz calculates everything using psychological camouflages. New player experience is definitely improved. Veteran, too… but here not by much as they want it to look. It’s just okay. They’re more focused to attract casuals rn.

well, the idea of gold quest is simple, as F2P I always start saving my gold to buy the packs for new expansions. (Usually I can net around 70-80 packs without help).
Gold Bonus from anything is always gonna help more for me to buy more new packs.

The outcome is roughly the same. Double gold lasted for two weeks, even if you rolled all 60g quests, it would still be 840 gold in total – ~8.5 packs. And that’s like the best case scenario – if you didn’t min-max you would probably get like 700g. Even less if you were busy and missed some quests.

This time we’re getting 9 packs flat, which is probably better for an average player. But the obvious downside is that the gold is more flexible – you can always use it on something else or keep for the next expansion.

When you explained it that way, 800 gold bonus is not a big deal. True. I haven’t look it that way.
But for F2P players like me, I always need more gold to buy new exp packs instead of old packs.

But I guess beggar can’t choose, and I always grateful about the rewards they gave, even when it diminished little by little over time.
For example, we don’t get anything for NobleGarden festival, and this 2 months (April & May) is stale without any bonus rewards.
