Top Standard, Wild & Twist Legend Decks – The Great Dark Beyond (Week 6) – December 2024

Before I start, I want to say that issues with deck codes are sadly still present. Any deck with Zilliax Deluxe 3000 (and let’s be real, that’s a lot of decks) won’t have its code working. The issue turned out to be more difficult to solve and the dev bandwidth I have access to is very limited. Believe me when I say it that I try to solve it as quickly as possible but it might take some more time. As a workaround, I always try to post a working deck code whenever I can. This post will be no different – for every deck running Zilliax, I will paste a working deck code BELOW the deck itself. Use it instead of the usual deck code box. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

I’m going to keep this short because frankly the last week has been rather uneventful. The meta is very similar to what it was last week, with Pirate Aggro Shaman and Dungar Druid being the two most played decks. As I’ve predicted, Pirate Demon Hunter is still steadily losing popularity and it’s getting replaced by the other Aggro version with the focus on Attacking with your Hero and burn damage. Other decks went up or down by a few % but nothing major really.

We have one new card available in Constructed – Bob the Bartender. While there was some buzz on social media about it being too strong before its release… turns out the card is quite mid. I’m not saying that it won’t have its place in the meta, it might actually see more play after the rotation when the power level is down. But for now, it’s just not that strong. It’s also just a generic Neutral Legendary that you slot into already existing decks, you don’t build your whole strategy around it, so it had no real impact on the meta.

The biggest event is definitely World Championship 2024, which is still underway at the time I’m writing this. A new champion should be crowned in a few hours. The line-ups were mostly predictable, majority of the decks are what we all expected to see. The biggest surprise was definitely Armor Wheel Warlock, which has been brought by three Chinese players. The deck has been performing very well so far, and funnily enough, it’s one of the most banned decks too. I guess that bringing a dark horse that other players weren’t prepared for might have been a good idea after all – I wish more players had done it. I’m not sure if it’s the meta or what, but I found most of the matchups quite boring in this year’s Worlds. There were definitely a few highlights, and I appreciate that we’re back to 16 competitors, but this year’s final tournament hasn’t been very exciting for me.

Next week, I expect to see the final balance patch before the holidays and thus most likely before the mini-set too. They definitely didn’t want to push it out right before the Worlds, since competitors would have no time to prepare. After that, late December will definitely be slow, including on our website. I expect the game to pick up the pace again in early-mid January with the mini-set announcement (I mean, we already know what it’s going to be, but we’re going to get the date and card reveals).

Below is a full list of the Legend decks from last week, sorted by the highest placement.
