Reveal season for TITANS is finally over – it honestly felt like forever compared to the previous, shorter ones. Still, I have to say that I like the approach of showing the entire class in a single day, this way you can discuss and theorycraft way easier without having to preface every opinion with “if this gets more synergy this expansion”.
As for the current meta – again, there have been no major changes. The only interesting thing, to be honest, is Naga Mage. The deck is Tier 4 (~42% win rate), but it shows some incredible promise in the right hands. I saw four players already hitting single digit Legend ranks with it. The problem with general win rate is that the deck is really hard to play, and I mean it. It’s so, so easy to mess up the combo, and the amount of planning ahead you have to make it insane. It usually takes me around 5-10 games to get a solid grasp of how the deck should be played, but I played ~20 games of Naga Mage already and I still have absolutely no idea what I’m doing during the Spitelash Siren turn. And I’m talking about just getting a hang of it, mastering it would probably take hundreds of games. That’s why when the deck pops up you usually see a single name – CJKaka. That player has been constantly running the deck for MONTHS, and it pays off, as he nearly constantly keeps high Legend ranks with it.
Other than that, the meta pretty much stays the same. It’s Big Beast (Hound) Hunter at the top, followed by the likes of Enrage Warrior, Totem Shaman, Pure Paladin, or Outcast Demon Hunter, lagging ~2% win rate behind it. We’ll see how the deck works going into the next expansion – Hunter didn’t exactly get the strongest package, but it has some promising cards. It will be the deck to pay attention to early after the release for sure – if it stays at the top, I expect a quick nerf in the first balance update.
This is our last “top decks” stop from Festival of Legends – a week from now we’ll be only 2 days before TITANS launch, so there will be no point in making another one like this. Instead, I’ll focus on theorycraftings for the new expansion. So… see you next expansion, I guess 🙂
