TITANS expansion reveal season is in full swing now, so that’s pretty much the main focus of most Hearthstone content creators. Given that the last update launched over a week ago and it was relatively minor, we didn’t notice many changes in the meta. It’s basically the same as it was during our last week’s report. Because of that, there’s not really much to discuss.
As I said last week, I don’t expect any more big balance changes (and thus meta shifts) before the release of TITANS. Patch 27.0, which includes the expansion data, should launch on July 25, with the set itself releasing a week later (August 1). 27.0 might have some smaller changes, especially for Battlegrounds, but probably nothing for Standard.
So we’re probably stuck with the same meta until August 1. Coincidentally, that’s also when Twist goes on a hiatus. Its first format – New Age – was a mixed bag. Some people actually enjoyed it and the last patch fixed it a bit. Questline DH is probably the strongest deck right now, but not by such a huge margin, especially at lower ranks because it’s a bit hard to play). Questline Shaman, Weapon Rogue and – interestingly enough – Imp Warlock are other Tier 1 contenders. Questline Druid is still strong and very popular (mostly because it’s so incredibly cheap), but I think that the patch has helped.
That said, what I’m more interested in right now is the second Twist format and how that will shape up. If I had to make a guess, Blizzard will take a month (August) off for the launch of TITANS and then bring back Twist in September when things slow down again (27.2 will be a big Battlegrounds update, but those usually don’t have anything interesting for Constructed, and a new Twist season can change that). Maybe, just maybe, it will launch with the mini-set in October. But I don’t think that they can make the break any longer, because people will quickly lose interest in the format.
