What a week, huh? If you, for whatever reason, missed it, here’s a quick summary. Last week in 29.2 patch notes Blizzard put a small footnote about making some changes to Quests. Almost no one cared about it, because small adjustments to stuff happen all the time. But then when Patch 29.2 released on Tuesday, it turned out that those “small adjustments” aren’t really small and many Weekly Quests were 3x as hard to complete while only giving ~25% more XP on average (which, mind you, DOES NOT mean 25% more Gold – for players who will complete rewards track, that’s only like 8% extra Gold over the course of the expansion). The whole community rioted and Blizzard quickly walked back… but only partially. Requirements have been adjusted from 3x to 2x difficulty (more or less). As you can imagine, it’s not enough and players are still very, very angry.
The promise is that they will keep adjusting them, but the damage has been done and even if they turn out to be better than the original ones a few weeks or months from now, that’s probably too late. And don’t get me wrong, I still hope they change it, but the public perception and trust can’t be rebuilt that easily.
This whole Quest situation completely took away all the hype around Battlegrounds Duos, which is quite fun to play from what I’ve heard. We also had a Demon Hunter nerf – Umpire's Grasp went from 3 to 4 mana. And what do you know, Aggro Demon Hunter has now dropped to Tier 2. The biggest winners of the patch were decks that were pretty good but had a weak Demon Hunter matchup before. Small Beast/Token Hunter is now the best-performing deck outside of Legend. Zarimi Priest is also a big winner – it’s clearly Tier 1, I would even say it’s the best deck in the game right now if you master it. Warlock is also doing really good, and not just a single deck. Wheel was pretty okay before the patch and it’s still good now. The new Pain Warlock looks very promising. And, interestingly enough, Sludge Warlock has made a comeback.
As for the losers, besides Demon Hunter, I think that Warrior and Mage are two biggest ones. Both of them performed pretty well vs Aggro DH and the new meta is much worse for them, so their win rates have dropped. Reno Warrior is still doing okay, but Mage has dropped down to Tier 3. Rainbow DK is also a bit worse than it was before the patch because – again – it had a good Aggro DH matchup. It’s still a good deck but it has dropped by around 1-1.5%.
All of that said, the current meta was always temporary. Even before Patch 29.2 released, Blizzard said that the Demon Hunter nerf was only an “emergency answer” to the deck that dominated the meta. There’s an actual, full balance update coming soon. The earliest I would expect it is Thursday (April 26). And if not, then it should drop the week after on Tuesday (April 30) or Thursday (May 2). Even if it’s the latest date, it’s still only ~10 days from now, but I would lean towards one of the first two.
Below is a full list of the Legend decks from last week, sorted by the highest placement.

It doesn’t really belong here, but my weekly quests for this week aren’t adjusted – they’re still ‘triple the fun’… 🙁
They will complete at the new values, ranked wins at 10/15, for example, because they have been changed server-side. There should be a client patch that will show the correct values in the store too.
Hi,
I’m not sure where else to write this but when searching decks on this website for a specific card, looking for decks with “Blood of the Ancient One” instead returns decks that contain “Sketchy Information”
