This one will be pretty short, because – as you can probably imagine – everyone is playing Mercenaries right now and not many people post new Constructed decks, be it Standard or Wild. We’ve only gathered a few of them since Mercenaries launch this Tuesday. We also went all-in on the new game mode, and the next week will probably be similar – we still plan to release a few more pieces, including a budget guide and a list of best PvP party comps.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t play much Constructed this week myself and didn’t follow any developments, but I don’t think that much has changed compared to last week. The meta is actually pretty balanced and I don’t think it will change, so whether you like it or not, don’t expect anything new until mini-set.
And yes, the mini-set is coming. Iksar has confirmed it again, we’ll learn more about it soon. When? Well, again, I would expect an early November launch (November 4 would be my guess if I had to give one), maybe with some teasers/announcement/card reveals up to a week earlier. What’s interesting, however, is that early November is when they would normally announce a new expansion and then release pre-purchases in Patch 21.6. I wonder if they will announce a new expansion and release the mini-set at the same time? Or maybe shift the announcement a big later? Well, it’s hard to say, the release of Mercenaries has definitely disturbed their usual schedule, but I suspect that it’s one-time thing and everything will get back to normal starting with the next expansion. Again, according to Iksar, there are no bigger projects in the works right now, only in the planning phase, so probably no new game modes any time soon.
