Early TITANS meta has more or less stabilized. We haven’t seen any major changes or new deck discoveries since last week. Yes, some people experimented, but on a rather smalls scale and I don’t think that anyone interesting really came out of it. At least not yet.
We’re in the middle of Masters Tour: Summer Championship now, and the meta there is also… pretty predictable. Most of the decks were just regular, popular meta builds, maybe with a spicy tech card or two. The only exception is the popularity of Outcast Demon Hunter – a deck that’s maybe 0.5% of the ladder was brought by 5 out of 16 players. But it starts making more sense once you look into Top 1k Legend stats – deck has a much higher popularity there (still only around 3%, but that’s a lot compared to the rest of the ladder and it’s growing) and it’s actually the highest win rate deck in there. It’s kind of a sleeper OP deck of the meta… without even having to run any new cards. But it’s one of the cases where nerfing the most popular decks might make it weaker instead of stronger. The deck relies on solid/good matchups against other popular picks, so if those get less popular, Outcast DH might also suffer. We’ll see if so many players bringing it to Masters Tour will translate into more popularity on the ladder.
There’s a balance patch coming on Tuesday (August 22), with a massive 27.2 update. The patch itself mostly concentrates on Battlegrounds, but we have a few nerfs and TONS of buffs coming. We’ll see how those are going to impact the meta. And Wild players had a big surprise in a form of Caverns of Time, the first-ever straight-to-Wild set. We already know most of the cards from the set, because they’re buffed reprints of older cards. Most of them probably still won’t be playable (other than in Twist), but there are some gems in there. And I think that most of the expansion’s power will lie in the 34 brand new cards – we already know a few of them and they look promising. Anyway, we’ll be covering it after it goes live on August 31!

Amazed to not see an Even Shaman deck. It’s still quite powerful.
