Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks – March of the Lich King Week 6 – January 2023

Let’s just say that last week was really… unproductive when it comes to Constructed. Yes – we had tons of Battlegrounds announcements. The whole Season 3 looks really interesting, and while Undead might turn out overpowered, let’s just say that it’s not the first time BG players had to deal with an overturned new minion type. However, when it comes to Standard and Wild changes, all we know is what we knew last week – that they’re coming later in the month.

But here’s the thing  – Patch 25.2 is dropping in just 2 days, on Tuesday. Last year’s big January Battlegrounds update also contained balance changes, so this might be the same. Blizzard hasn’t said anything about Constructed changes yet, so we can’t be sure, but it would fit the “later in the month” timeline + it’s the best opportunity to throw in some of them. If not, we’ll probably have to wait at least until a week after (January 24?) and that’s a bit late.

While the meta at lower ranks might not be that bad, it’s still a bit stale a month since the last update. And the high Legend meta is just a complete nightmare. As you know, most of the decks we post come from high Legend – the majority from top 200. And the truth is that almost no one at those ranks even bothers to post their decks now. Almost 70% of the high Legend meta is Rogue + Demon Hunter combined (and no, I’m not exaggerating), so why share another Miracle Rogue or Scythe Demon Hunter list if it’s the same thing as dozens of people have already posted? I really, really need some kind of balance update to keep posting new decks.

So I hope that 25.2 will also come with a surprise Constructed nerf. And if not, I hope that at the very least it will be announced next week.
