Balance update was released on Tuesday and it actually… changed the meta, believe it or not. Just like always, people said that nerfs to Rogue aren’t enough, but they turned out to be enough – both Rogue decks have lost 5%+ win rate and are now below 50% (or barely above 50% at certain ranks). Not saying that they’re completely unplayable and people won’t think of a way to make them work, but it’s interesting how impactful those changes were. Old Guardian did a write-up on the early post-patch meta – while things are still being figured out, you might find it handy.
Does it mean that the meta is “perfect”? Well, it depends on your definition of perfect. It’s more balanced, but if you don’t like the deck that are played, then you won’t like the meta. We’re back to mostly Aggro-Midrange + Questline meta and it’s hard to fit a Control deck in there if that’s what you want. So the promises of the meta really slowing down with the new expansions weren’t fulfilled – and unless the mini-set changes something drastically, they won’t be until Questlines are dealt with.
Talking about the mini-set – it should actually be releasing soon, within the next few weeks. We don’t know the exact date and a very late Patch 22.2 possibly pushed it back by a week or two, but I still wouldn’t expect it later than the last week of February (again, remember that the new set with a huge rotation is coming sometime early in April, so they can’t exactly delay the mini-set for too long). So far all the mini-sets had some impact on the meta, but it was never huge – usually a few previously average/below average decks that got support were pushed to Tier 1 or Tier 2, and that was enough to shake things up a bit.
I don’t have THAT many decks to share today since I only started adding new ones on Wednesday and including pre-patch ones is a bit pointless. For some reason, people didn’t really share many decks over the last week, which is rare for a post-patch period. Hopefully, next week will have a bit more of them!

Hopefully get a miniset teaser sometime today or Thursday.
Probably get released as far as Feb 15th.
A period of 1.5 months is okay-ish I guess.
But kinda shows their inconsistent. No more 2 months period between minisets and expansions.
I just hope Paladin miniset achievements have some synergies so it takes less time to complete the original buggy one.
‘…For some reason, people didn’t really share many decks over the last week, which is rare for a post-patch period…’
People are busy filling their Buddymeter in Battlegrounds. 😉
You’re right, that might be a part of it. There are some people jumping between modes depending on which one gets more attention at the time, but there’s a lot of Constructed-only players who don’t care much about Battlegrounds (and, of course, vice versa). So it was still a bit weird. Hope we get more after the mini-set 🙂
