This week’s roundup is a bit late – sorry about that, I couldn’t do it earlier. But honestly – there’s not that much to share anyway, the last few days have been very dry when it comes to new decks. It’s always like that around Masters Tours – most of the pro players are attending or watching and not necessarily sharing decks. Other than MT decks, of course, and don’t worry – I’ll cover those tomorrow!
Admittedly, I didn’t have a lot of time to play the game over the last week either, so I can’t talk much about the meta. It looks like not much has changed – maybe with the exception of Control Priest getting even more popular. It was already one of the most common decks at the top ranks, but right now it spreads throughout the ladder. Mini-set and last patch have been very good for the Priest – notably probably its worst popular matchup before mini-set – Control Warlock – has dropped heavily (and players who still pick it to counter Priest have a harder time right now thanks to Mutanus the Devourer, giving Priest another out except Illucia). Right now Control Priest is the third most popular deck overall and BY FAR the most popular in Legend.
Other than that, meta is just stabilizing. Bad deck experiments are disappearing, builds are getting more optimized. Overall, the meta looks quite balanced. We don’t have any massive outliers, not decks that can’t easily be countered despite standing out so much. All but two classes have a fighting chance – sadly the meta isn’t very forgiving to Warlocks and Paladins. Neither of those classes got anything powerful in the mini-set and the recent meta shifts, increase of power level, and nerfs in case of Paladin, turned them into fringe classes with a couple of % popularity on the ladder overall. You can still see them in lower ranks semi-commonly, but as the field gets tougher at higher ranks, they disappear nearly completely. Mages also aren’t doing amazingly well, but at least Spell Mage can boast a good Priest matchup, so it’s quite useful in high Legend (where Priest’s popularity reaches 30%+).

You know it’s bad when more than half of Priest deck can generate value.
Scorpid to Raise Dead to Scorpid, into Renew, into Palm Reading, into Raise Dead and so on and on.
You know it’s bad when people prefer to face Big Priest / Ticklock rather than RNG s**t Priest.
Sometimes you won, but it felt like you just lost the game.
You know it’s bad when Reddit is full with people rant about the match they have with Priest.
I myself auto concede against them. Just ban Priest already.
Reddit has been swooped by token druid for some reason 😛
