Top Standard Legend Decks From Rise of Shadows – Week 3 (April 2019)

Time sure flies by, because Rise of Shadows is out for nearly 3 weeks now. The meta, however, didn’t change very much since last week. We see some small shifts when it comes to win rates, but not a big deal. One of the biggest surprises is popularity and strength of Miracle (Nomi) Priest in high Legend. The deck is very hard to pilot AND it has some terrible hands, but overall, if you play it well and don’t draw badly, it can produce amazing results. The deck got so popular that others have started teching against it – e.g. some Warriors in high Legend started running Spellzerker to be able to kill it with Warpath.

Talking about Warriors, Mecha'thun builds became more popular. Control Warrior is a big player in high Legend, and mirrors aren’t exactly the easiest to play – not only they take A LOT of time, but ultimately it’s often down to who gets Dr. Boom, Mad Genius earlier (and rolls better Hero Powers) + who gets a better Archivist Elysiana. Mecha’thun version, however, does not have to worry about those that much. As long as you can survive until you run out of cards (which also means that you don’t have to hold onto your draw cards), you basically win the game. There are two versions of the deck. One is just a regular Control Warrior playing Mecha'thunGalvanizer instead of Elysiana + Youthful Bremwaster/Baleful Banker – it wants to Shield Slam his own Mecha’thun, but doesn’t commit a lot of cards to the combo. The other build is an all-in Combo deck, which does not need Armor to kill it off, but dedicates more cards to the combo. Notably, Malygos version is also good against Miracle Priest, because it can clear Nomi with Maly + Whirlwind (and you don’t really need a combo against Miracle Priest if you can just answer 3x Nomi board).

The last change is something we’ve already seen last week – Conjurer Mage seems to be getting more and more popular. Its play rate has roughly doubled since last week (from ~3.5% to ~7%) and it still grows.

Below, you will find a full list of the Legend decks from last week, sorted by the highest placement.
