Third week of Ashes of Outland is behind us – we’ve already seen two balance updates and a lot of small meta shifts. While Demon Hunter remains one of the strongest classes even after nerfs, I have to say that overall things look balanced. Each class has at least a single viable deck (Shaman is doing worst from what I’ve seen, but between Totem & Galakrond builds, it has playable options). That’s why I don’t expect another “emergency” balance update.
One of the most notable mentions of the last week is the rise of Egg/Tempo Warrior. It became one of the most played decks in higher ranks and one of the BEST decks too. It ticks all the right boxes – it can be aggressive when necessary, but also gains a lot of Armor if needed, it cycles through the deck very quickly, it has solid board clears AND a combo finisher. It feels crazy how many things are packed into a single build, but it just works. Players are still figuring out which version is the best. Egg is the most popular, but some deck builders are experimenting with versions without it, more combo-oriented builds, or decks running even more cycle + some late game finishers such as Zephrys the Great and Dragonqueen Alexstrasza.
Other than that, I feel like Galakrond Rogue dethroned Tempo Demon Hunter and took over the #1 deck spot. While the deck is very similar to how it looked like in Descent of Dragons (it shares like… 22-24 cards depending on the build), the addition of either Secret or Stealth strategies puts a nice twist on it, so in the end it plays a bit differently than it the last set.

Jesus, those high legend decks grind my gears 😛 I’ve had the final boss fight three times this month, always Illidan, always a loss XD
Hate the grind, but I really need to hit that legend at least once in my life :C
What happened to highlander Priest? Has it been just overtaken by Galakrond Priest now? I played both but i sstill think highlander is better
I haven’t faced almost any Highlander Priests for the past few days. I think that players are trying out Galakrond build now, so far it seems more consistent. But we’ll see how things develop – the 2nd nerf patch happened only last week, so a lot can happen.
