Top Finishing Standard Legend Decks from Season 27 (June 2016)

It’s always fun to get a look at what decks are finishing high in the legend rankings. In Season 27 there were a couple of surprises. Fr0zen grabbed the #1 spot with a N’Zoth Renolock, while Chakki took #6 with an Aggro Beast Druid! Some decks are more standard than others, but it’s still interesting to see which specific cards are being run in each deck.

The ranks listed were provided by the players and aren’t official until Blizzard releases them.

Update

I’ll be adding a few more lists here:

Top Legend Decks From Season 27

Renolock does not seem super popular right now, but it did the job for Fr0zen as he nails down the #1 Legend spot with an N’Zoth version of the deck. Fr0zen also recently found success at DreamHack Summer finishing 2nd place at the event!

Fr0zen credits Hoej with the creation of the list!

You would expect to see Yogg Druid in the top 100, but seeing an aggressive Beast Druid make top 10 is a bit of a shocker. Chakki continues to find success with offbeat aggro decks that seem to catch people by surprise, he brought a more token based version of this deck to the HCT Americas Spring Preliminaries.

C’Thun, Control, Dragon, and Tempo Warrior have all been jockeying for the top position as Warrior’s best deck. It seems, however, that any choice among them is solid when looking for legend.

MrYagut is no stranger to high ladder finishes, this time he used Senfglas’ Yogg Druid to do the job. Like I mentioned above, this is the style of Druid you’d expect to see doing well on the ladder right now. It’s a deck built around spells and tokens with Yogg giving you a way out of bad late game situations. It is interesting how the opinion of Yogg-Saron has greatly swung due to the power of some of these decks. Having a card that is pure RNG determining the outcome of games in which you’ve likely lost is pretty brutal for the people playing against it.

Aggro Shaman continues its reign of terror on the meta. There’s not much left to say about this deck, it’s very strong much to the chagrin of most players. This particular list was originally built (I believe) by Xixo.

Firebat is back in the hunt for some of those HCT points, and he got himself a high legend rank with this Dragon Warrior. This is a fairly standard list with the exception of the big bad Deathwing anchoring the deck for some end game firepower.

Vlps has gone back to a bit of the old classic version of Midrange Shaman. He’s brought back the Fire Elemental and our good buddy Al'Akir the Windlord. The deck even cuts the much hated Doomhammer.

I almost feel like I might be getting trolled by this one, but Azumoqt might have finished at 25 legend with an odd version of Warlock Zoo that contains Yogg-Saron, Hope's End. It also interestingly contains Spreading Madness and Bane of Doom!

Update: Azumoqt told me he actually used a normal Zoo deck to get his #25 Legend finish. I will leave this deck here just because it’s interesting and actually did get him into high legend originally.

*I’ll leave this one with an asterisk as I’m not POSITIVE (I asked and will update with the response) he used this deck to reach his final legend spot.

I’ve been a Shaman loyalist since season 15 when I made it to Rank 4 for the first time with a Pinpinho list. It feels good seeing Thrall back in the game.

I think it might work still, but it’s a pretty difficult deck.

Looks like ApxVoid ended #8 playing Deathwing Druid. His list is buried in his VODs somewhere, but it might be the same 30 as the original Neobility list.

Cursed was probably top 100 playing very weird Wrathguard Zoo.

ChessDude’s stream showed himself ending top 15 with CThun Warrior and Tripp ending maybe top 5 with Dragon Warrior.

My friend Noblord finished #6 with a deathwing dragon warrior as well. I don’t remember the exact decklist but I think he cut a faerie for deathwing. he streams under the same name too and showed the decklist at the very end.
