“The Great Dark Beyond” Is The Next Hearthstone Expansion, Launches November 5, One New Card Revealed

As I predicted, yesterday’s expansion teaser with influencers was only a small part of a bigger project. Which is… sort of an expansion reveal video, but not in the way we’re generally used to.

The video only revealed the new expansion’s name (and well, the general theme, which we could already sort of gather from the teaser) and a single new card – a Demon Hunter Legendary, Xor’toth, Breaker of Stars.

It’s a really cool design, actually, and a good showcase of what cards we might expect in this set thematically. But it doesn’t showcase any new mechanics. Well… kind of. The end of the video has a small clip in the background, showing what looks to be a new mechanic (and a new Druid Legendary), but we’ll have to wait until the official reveal to see what it actually is:

We now also know the release date – The Great Dark Beyond will be out on November 5, 2024.

The full announcement is going to happen today at 10 AM PT (19:00 CET). I would expect the usual expansion-related blog post as well as 30.6 patch notes.

Question: Will the Stars of Origination only do 5 damage? I mean, there’s two so I’m thinking that it would be 10 – then I see Xor’toth and I’m thinking maybe it’s 15 total?

I’m in the dark, here. Mind helping me out? 🙂
