Made a deck with 4 Possibility seekers and 3 arcane anomalies. Didn’t work out but was fun to play.

These cards are so OP… Possibility seaker with 4-5 other cards in hand is like a 4 mana sprint and not go into fatigue plus a 4/5 body. Wtf is that??? Since it’s arena, you don’t really even care about burning cards… Obviously you don’t always have a hand but even with 1 other card, it’s broken as hell. Blizzard pls… Arena might have a higher power level than standard…

Soooo nice cards! Very smart artwork and mechanics. Why they are not doing this Kind of stuff for définitive sets (less overpowerd ofc).

It seems like the quests are temporary, but will the cards be permanent in arena?

Yes they will. This is How Blizzard test for opcomming permanent cards. Since tarvens of time came out, arena has been pretty crowded

I’m just excited to make ropers squirm with murozond. That seems like such an interesting card. This whole lineup is pretty awesome. It definitely makes me want to play arena this event!

It says your turns with an s because you usually have more than one turn yourself.

Prediction: one mechanic from this batch of cards that will make it into a future non-arena set is the idea of placing specific cards on top of your deck, as opposed to just shuffling them anywhere into the deck. It seems like a simple idea, and its not necessarily OP by default.

“Deck Manipulation” mechanics like this have long been part of Magic, and one of the most powerful (and often OP) mechanics out there. Hearthstone has so far shied away from this, which is both good and bad. One, with the very short time limits on turns, a lot of the strategic thought about what cards to keep vs. put back, vs. shuffle, vs. put on top that can happen would be a challenge. In Magic, many a turn is someone just “deep in the tank” thinking through all the permutations on what they want to draw, in what order, etc.

Now maybe Hearthstone’s time limits will help this… as you have to decide fast, or it is very limited options about what goes on top. But I can bet the devs are VERY hesitant about going down this path… as it can quickly become one of the most OP mechanics out there. We already see how powerful it can be to build a deck that helps you draw/resummons the exact card you need with a mechanic that is supposed to be heavy RNG. They’d have to be REALLY careful with this mechanic added to the game, especially if it was only one class.

Although i agree that deck manipulation is a powerful mechanic, especially in magic where decks like lantern control live to control your opponents draws, I personally do not feel it would be as bad in Hearthstone, at least, not with these arena cards.

Admittedly, if they make cards that let your organize and sort your deck in Hearthstone, it could become very bad very fast with combo or burn decks.
However, the current cards make you choose from random cards not in your deck to place on top. This makes it more luck based, and while not necessarily weaker, much harder to ‘break’ and activate stupid combos with!
Just my opinion though, I personally kind of like the mechanic idea but I guess I will get of find out once the event is live!

It would be cool if a few, or even one of these cards somehow snuck into the future expansion or found some timeline shifting way of sliding into constructed, but obviously many of these cards would be to powerful, or even too weird for the game. Chromie looks like she was an idea for a monster hunt card and her mechanic was too unbalanced or wonkie. I’d like to highlight cards that seem like they could fit into standard. Thief of futures seems like blink fox, not guaranteed to get a class car but it does get you information. Fate cleaver also seems reasonable, not sure how good it would be but its a good answer to token generating things (and cards like dire frenzy). Reminisce seems like that would be fun, but potentially too powerful. Possibility seeker seems like it would be an interesting card to try out in combo decks or decks that focus around a few cards. Most the other cards don’t really seem practical for standard though.

Lots of them are too strong and look sort of like scrapped ideas. But some of them would be really cool to have in Constructed too!
