This week’s Tavern Brawl is the Masked Ball!
Official Description for Tavern Brawl The Masked Ball
At the SI:7 mansion in Stormwind they have a grand masked ball every year. Everyone is in disguise! When a minion dies, its disguise is revealed, showing the minion to actually be a different random minion that costs (2) less and ready for another fight!
Reward is a Classic pack this week!
Tips/Interactions
- 1-Drops do not receive the Deathrattle bonus making them a weaker choice for your deck.
- 2-Drops are also a bit on the weaker side because they only spawn Wisp or Target Dummy
- Minions with a Summon Deathrattle are extra powerful because they will spawn the original minion and an additional minion.
- Spellbreaker and Ironbeak Owl are pretty quality cards in this Brawl.
- Lil' Exorcist has finally found its meta!
- Druid of the Claw does NOT get the Deathrattle bonus.
- Tokens and minions you Summon do not receive the Deathrattle bonus.
Submit your Tavern Brawl deck using our new Hearthstone Deck Builder and your deck could be featured on this post!
The Masked Ball Deck Lists
The deck below is from the previous version of the Tavern Brawl, but should still work.
Feign Death works great for this one!
Druid in general seems very strong in this scenario. The ramp effect of getting stronger minions out early is compounded by the deathrattle. Often the deathrattle minions are just as strong as the actual ,minions being played by your opponent.
Yup – I played 13 games won 11 … only lost to a mage in one game because I wasn’t paying attention and walked a Sea Giant right into Mirror Image. Sea Giants are insane in this brawl and Nerubian Prophets aren’t bad but even the bog standard Ironbark Protector is pretty good because of the cost – and very few people are running hard removals (though Ironbeak Owl and Mind Control Tech are making an appearance – I’d have thought polymorph/hex would be more popular than they seem to be).
Swipe is even pretty strong to mop up the hordes of 1-health-weenies that litter the board; this is the deck I was using though I’d probably swap out Y’Shaarj, just dropped him in because ramp, but the minions he pulls don’t gain the extra deathrattle – replace him with N’Zoth or Baron Rivendare:

THat weeks tawern brawl is total clusterfuck.
It isnt at all fun to play.
Hey guys, dunno if you guys are aware of the big glitch in this week’s brawl but I’m trying to play a druid deck and it seems that anything I summon which takes a form (i.e. druid of the flame, talon, or any other druid) will not spawn anything after it dies putting me at a sever disadvantage with what otherwise would be a great deck. I assume this is something to do with the script you have written to prevent the creatures spawned from the original minion to spawn minions of their own. Anyway, just thought you should know. As for me, I’ll now design a new deck to play with to avoid this problem.
Thanks
I did mention that in my “Tips/Interaction” area of the post. It isn’t a bug, the card “transforms” into one of the options so Druid of the Claw the original 4/4 would receive the Deathrattle, but his transformations will not.
