Official Description for Ragnaros’ Fire Festival
Defeat your opponent, but if you feed an ever-growing, minion-eating, tiny Fire Lord, there may be a reward in it for you!
Ragnaros’ Fire Festival Chalkboard
General Information
- You get one Standard card pack for winning your first game this week.
- It’s the fourth time we see this Brawl. The last time we saw it was on July 7, 2021.
- It’s a PvP Brawl.
- It’s a build-your-own deck Brawl.
- The Brawl’s format is Wild.
- Mini-Rag starts on the board of the player who goes second and it will fire 1-damage shots (the number is equal to its attack) at the end of each turn, targeting random enemies. Every time it kills a minion, it gains attack. It means that it starts pretty slowly, but after a few kills it will throw a lot of damage around.
- At the end of each turn, it switches sides. When you end your turn, it fires at you and your minions. When the opponent ends yours, it fires at them and their minions.
- Mini-Rag is immune and can’t be killed through usual means, but if something causes Rag to disappear from the board (e.g. Twisting Nether, Psychic Scream etc.), a new one is spawned (but it starts with base stats).

the kill count is bugged:
at the end of every match, the game gives exactly the same number for “mini-rag kills” and “total”, so i can never complete any achievements
some things that could be added to the general information:
– healing totem resurrects minions that were killed by ragnaros
– if you still have 7 minions after the Ragnaros trigger, ragnaros will remove your right-most minion and replace it
– mass dispell (and presumably shard of the naaru too) silences ragnaros
– soul mirror copies ragnaros
grim patron is by far the best card in this format.
if you want to go for a less common strategy, you can go for quest warlock.
ragnaros proceeds your quest, and after you played tamsin, ragnaros fires at your opponent on both player’s turns
The most common strategy is enrage warrior with eggs.
ravenous kraken triggers eggs well.

Edit: 12-0 and counting 🙂
Btw it is enrage warrior SMOK
Thanks for posting, I just added your list 🙂
Yep. Still solid in 2024. Get those patrons!
I don’t know which two cards would not load for me from your list.
I expanded mine with Prince Renathal for the padded life total and more survive & take damage triggers. And, I swapped Oasis Thrasher for Whirling Combatant, for more triggers.

fix heal totem!
https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/evidents-ragnaros-fire-festival-patron-warrior/
Evident’s old list from waaaaaay back in 2017 still works, although it has a heavily Taunt-based build for some reason which shouldn’t be necessary. (That’ll teach me to netdeck as usual.) I didn’t have Blood Brothers so I swapped in copies of Bomb Wrangler and Sudden Genesis, but I’ll agree with other commenters and recommend an Enrage/Egg-based list.
If you go second the effect of the heling totems triggers after rgnaros…
If your whole board gets killed the totem will heal everiback to 1 health!!!!
It seems this brawl counts your previously plays of this brawl like from last year. Which explains why my emotes already has fireworks when this event started and my mini-Rag total was already 100+.
Now that I’ve got the Cards from Blackrock Mountain, unlike last year, I can play Warrior.
“yay”
This brawl sucks
I think it’s actualy really fun and refreshing. The emotes are cool too. Try playing against a friend and think of it as co-op too.
Just used my even shaman deck and got the pack. Ain’t no thang.
I went down the route of using Paladin (since I had some quests to clear out) and flooding the board with tiny minions (Lost in the Jungle, Muster for Battle, Leper Gnome, Dragon Egg and so on) to buff mini-Rag as much as possible and let him kill the opponent; not hugely effective (until I added Grim Patron) but having a 20 attack mini-Rag on the board was worth it. Chalked off the Fireworks emote quest pretty quickly.
Like most of my decks seem to be – fun, but not terribly effective 🙂
I tried to get 60 kills but only got 56 and realised i can do it in 5 default games ><
what is the rewarad ?
13-0 so far

Good deck, still works in 2021!
Great deck. Easy 3 out of 3 so far.
What happens if you complete the Warrior Quest and play the hammer, turn yourself into Rag, or put Rag into play (either norm or light form)? Any interesting interactions?
Nothing special, my Hero Power from the Hammer Quest hit the mini-Rag two times in a row (instead of killing my opponent…).
Had to deal with Zoolock with Floating Watcher, became a 12/10 on turn 4, nearly shat my pants.
Here is a more brawl specific list for token druid. The goal is to feed the ragnaros as much as possible. Mini rag will take care of the rest.

Murlocs paladin works fine, im 4/6 – W/L
so 40% winratio = fine? XD
do you get any actual rewards like the christmas cardback or is this just a regular tavern brawl
You get an upgraded Wow emote, but I would imagine that will only stick around as long as the Midsummer Fire Festival Event is live.
Grim Patron is so good in this Brawl
