This week’s Tavern Brawl is “Miniature Warfare”!
Discuss this Tavern Brawl on our Discord!
Official Description for Miniature Warfare
That pesky Shrinkmeister turned all your Hearthstone cards into toys! Now all your minions are 1/1 and only cost (1) mana.
Miniature Warfare Chalkboard
General Information
- You get one Standard card pack for winning your first game this week.
- It’s the sixth time we see this Brawl (seventh if we count Miniature Warfare Brawliseum). Last time we’ve seen it on January 4, 2023.
- This is a PvP Brawl.
- Brawl’s format is Wild.
- It’s a Constructed Brawl – you need to pick a Hero and build your own deck.
- All of the minions you put into your deck will be 1 mana 1/1’s, while keeping their original effects.
- “Miniaturized” aura affects all minions, not only the ones you play from your hand. For example, minions summoned by Deathrattles or resurrected minions will also be 1/1’s.
- Because of that, you want to focus on high-cost minions with powerful effects, such as Ragnaros the Firelord, Tirion Fordring, Invincible or Alexstrasza the Life-Binder. If it comes with a big buff, lots of damage, and so on, just put it in your deck!
- Card draw is also very important, because with all your minions costing only 1 mana, you will run out of things to do very quickly.
I built this deck, 100% wins in 30 games!!!

Well, this time Lor’themar Theron is bugged and reverts the minions in you deck to their original stats with +1/+1.
Titans are excellent options for this format, which is terribly fast now – many games end after 2-4 turns.
Odyn is very popular among Warriors
Warlocks like their Doomkins
First turn Elise from Priest also worked well against me
I seem to be the only one who plays Sathrovarr though …
That was a fun deck!
I played against a warlock who spawned all kinds of bring-extra-minions-minions like onyxia.
started with dragoncaster (mvp!) – puzzle box and finished with troll centurion into dragoncaster – malygos – pyroblast for an honorable player kill.
i would probably add some cheap aoe effects against the various onyxias running around.
mage parrot (substituted jepetto which i did not own) gave me an extra puzzle box.
Astalor (+Brann) may be even more broken in this format than ever.
Denathrius after the nerf probably not so much.
Tried a Big Spell Mage style, simply for the fun of playing Balinda on turn 1

Based on an old combo priest deck I’d run in wild but faster because all your minions cost 1
Update: It’s the fifth time we see this Brawl. Comments below this one are old, but can often still be relevant!
It appears that it is a mix of what you have posted and the Brawliseum event, using Standard format.
Sorry, I jumped the gun on this one. I can’t access it yet since I’m on EU and someone told me that it’s Miniature Warfare, but didn’t add that it’s Brawliseum, lol.
No worries, just pitching in 🙂
Easy win with C’thun warrior. Get loads of armor adding abilities and c’thun gear. Lots of removal in weapons.

Very bad deck in 2023, but even 2018 i don’t understand some choices.. What does N’zoths Mate do in there for example? Could just win against an even worse deck
In that case Dirty Rat should be balanced, because before that, there were no way of teching against Combo decks (playing with yourself decks), unless you could mill them, even then they could play around mill accordingly. If you think Potion of Madness, Firelands Portal and Netherspite Historian are balanced, you might rethink that. Kabal Talonpriest? Fine. I get your point. But Potion of Madness, stealing a minion, destroying another opponent minion with the same minion and activate the deathrattle effect of the minion you just stole is way overboard. Firelands Portal, I don”t really need to tell you why, even Blizzard tried to print bad 5-mana minion to semi-nerf this card. It is still a very strong card that can be runned in any Mage nowadays. Netherspite Historian, Discovering a fourth Drakonid Operative or whatever late-game dragon to keep you in the game, and even now discovering a fourth Duskbreaker is pretty annoying and ridiculous to deal with.

A Malygos OTK Druid. Pretty costly but fun.
Maly Otk Hemet druid deck I made for fun. Pretty costly but quite strong.

24 – 1 So i thought i should post it !
Beating all warlocks and rogue, only lost one game to aggro shaman with both bonemares and fungalmancers..
Usually Otk turn 5 or 6, some times turn 7. But its no problem to keep health up that long. There comes the high winrate . If you face most aggro, add one greater healing potion and have fun 🙂

questing adventurer and Gruul are both strong in this brawl as well
Dude. this was just stupid easy. nice deck mate. i didnt have a few cards so i threw in a questing adv, and some card draw
good call, glad you got on with it nicely.
Thanks for the deck bro, 2 easy wins that I needed for my quests 🙂
right on!
Had pretty fun games with this shaman combo deck winning by turn 5/6 with kalimos/ blazecaller to face AAECAaoIBIUD9QSXxwKr5wINvQHwB5MJoLYCz7wC0bwCrMIC68ICwsMCh8QCyMcClc4C4OoCAA
Velen + Mind Blast decks with a lot of draw can basically imitate the not-so-old Raza Priest days.
Loving this Brawl!
Quest rouge does give you 5/5s, and is faster to complete that usual.
Paladin – Standard – Winrate 90% so fa

I had some fun with OTK Priest, try it out:
http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/otk-priest-miniature-warfare-tavern-brawl/
Now updated for standard version of brawl
Paladin is pretty funny and competitive – list is not optimal (thrown together in 2 minutes):
2 Redemption
2 Noble Sacrifice
2 Avenge
1 Competitive Spirit
1 Wickerflame Burnbristle
2 Steward of Darkshire
2 Stampeding Kodo
1 Hogger
2 Mysterious Challenger
1 Justicar Trueheart
1 Sylvanas Windrunner
1 The Curator
1 Dr. Boom
2 Bonemare
1 The Lich King
1 Kel’Thuzad
1 Ragnaros the Firelord
1 Ragnaros, Lightlord
1 Tirion Fordring
1 Alexstrasza
1 Onyxia
1 Ysera
1 Deathwing
What about Sunkeeper Tarim?
Makes the opponent’s dudes bigger, so I don’t know. Would be nice in a token strategy with more dudes that make dudes.
I feel kinda bad for the newbies that have to face a bunch of 1-mana OP wild legendaries in this brawl.
Well … I have the cards so I play the cards. 😉
Most of the Legendaries in that list are in Standard – and I’d guess Mysterious Challenger is the MVP with the Wild Secrets and he’s only Epic.
… or Bonemare which is Standard common and totally OP in this brawl (as opposed to just OP as it is normally). I was playing with a Druid deck, Ancient of War into Bonemare (5/10 Taunt) on T2 (1 on the coin) is a pretty solid start as you can then dump a load of minions behind it and buff them.
Wild Legendaries aren’t as OP as you might think.
The brawl is standard.
Oops, this is an old comment. 🙁
I made a hunter deck with The Marsh Queen and Dinomancy. Works great and is fun because it’s so easy to complete The Marsh Queen quest with every minion costing 1 mana. Add the Dinomancy +2/ +2 buff on whatever card you choose, and it it’s a pretty awesome and fun deck for this Tavern Brawl.
Here’s my deck:
http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/marsh-queen-dinomancy-hunter-miniature-warfare-tavern-brawl/
Let me know what you think! Would you change anything?
at least they fixed Evolve
Bonemare is pretty good too. Turn 1 Hobgoblin/Bonemare on Coin is a nifty 16 stats.
Alex + Rag on coin is a pretty good start too.
North Sea kraken is a great 1 and a common card .
Evolve simply bugged. If the “exploiter” shaman use this, he will get REAL mobs. Not just 1/1.
having Lots of fun with c’thun http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/miniature-warfare-miracle-cthun/
Secret wepon Evolve 😉 (not sure if its supposed to be working like this)
I use curator too and one dragon guess which 😉
+1murloc the 6 mana AOE one and the buff beast 😉
Why no evolve decks? it works.. uses their original cost lol
I just did a battle cry deck focusing mainly on kraken and boom with all the available return to hand effects. You wanna go rogue to get shadow step and the brewmasters. Plus, you get a lot of defense against 1/1s (fok, shiv etc)
You can choose between both win conditions but kraken would be more direct. Also add bran to make things more interesting.
How does work something like shadowstep? The reduced cost/stats get applied again?
A card I think they are overlooking is curator, I mean, this guy can bring 3 cards that cost 1 to your hand, let’s say malygos (or alextrasa), stampede kodo (hits anything) and corrupted seer (who can wipe the whole table for 1)
Shaman murloc deck is very strong.
Turn 1: Onyxia
Turn 2: Innervate x2, Savage Roar x2
Someone make this happen and record it.
I just had the dream with the Maly rogue above
Turn 1: Alexstrasza
Turn 2: Maly, Sinister Strike, Coin, Sinister Strike
It was disgusting lol, unfortunately didn’t have anything to record 🙁
And only a 4 card combo requiring two one-of’s and both of a two-of (5 cards if you include counterfeit coin in case of going first)!!! It’s even less likely than someone just conceding at the start of a match lol.
just tought I’d post my own deck her http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/tavern-brawl-miniature-warefare-autobuff-combo/ pretty cheap to make deck and I am having great succes with it.
Looks awesome, thanks for the submission!
I didn’t have 2 copies of Ancient of War/Lore so I added in Ragnaros. Drew him on turn one and it won me the game after buffing him with a few spells and using a faceless manipulator as a finisher combo.
