League of Explorers: Revived Chalkboard

General Information

  • You get one Classic card pack for participating in this week’s Brawl.
  • Additionally, players get a Legendary Quest which awards one Saviors of Uldum card pack. There are NO extra rewards for finishing it.
  • It’s the first time we see this Brawl.
  • The Brawl is a part of the “Onward… To Uldum” event, which leads to the release of Saviors of Uldum solo adventure – Tombs of Terror.
  • Brawl’s format is Wild.
  • It’s a Dungeon Run-style Brawl, where you fight bosses and upgrade your deck.
  • As you progress, Explorer cards will be added to your deck. Because of that, you want to keep your deck Highlander-friendly to have their effects active! While card buckets are made to be as highlander-friendly as possible, you still get duplicates sometimes, so try to avoid them. You can also get duplicate treasures, so unless you really need them, try to pick something else instead (it doesn’t matter for passives, only cards that are in your deck).

This brawl… Ugg!! I accept that Blizzard just loves the dungeon run format for some reason, but why does it have to be so high-rolly? They reward us with broken cards, but then they make the bosses twice as broken and the “challenge” is either finding a combination from the offered random cards that synergizes so they are broken-squared…or just lucking into Robes of Guadiness, which is how I ultimately won. Would it be so awful to either reduce the power levels across the board or the deck building a little less RNG?

Fun brawl! Beat it first time! Seems like sir Finley is the hardest of the bunch. Since you face him second (at least I got him second, I don’t know if the order is random) you can run out of cards very easily…

one of the few useless Tavern Brawl. Since it doesn’t give u any gold from winning it multiple times.
but if my calculations right, this Tavern Brawl rewards is equal 30 wins in standard Tavern Brawl (because they gave us 1 pack / 100 gold / equal to 3 wins * 10 times)

it’s like winning 30 games in an instant. Why its useless? because I can usually get more than 100 gold in 1 Tavern Brawl (40-50 wins every week).
It would’ve been better if they gave us more than this tiny rewards.
Sorry to rant here. Nothing else to do.

    Turn 4: Wispering Woods
    Turn 5: Mass Hysteria

    Awesome combo.

It should be noted, that during the run, you recieve as reward the “highlander” cards of each explorer, so if you want to avoid canceling their effects, you should avoid duplicating cards when choosing cards and/or treasures. (Sadly, you dont get everyone’s favorite genie)

Another thing is that the final boss is HARD. i’ve only played one run, but his hero power is insane, my guess is that you have to go full aggro on him, cos after turn 7-8 it becomes absolutely impossible to keep up with him.

I’ve only played one run, so I might be wrong, but it seemed like the buckets intentionally went out of their way to not duplicate any cards, so you don’t have to actually worry about accidentally disabling all the highlander cards. I also had everyone’s favorite genie offered to me multiple times until it was in a good enough bucket to take and I realized highlander is enforced.

I played a 2nd run, and i think you are right.. however, in my first run, it did offer me a repeated treasure (the wand that draws 3 cards and makes them cost 0) i didnt choose it the second time, but i could have if i wanted to.

I messed up and chose the double deathrattle passive. My astral tigers shuffled twice into the deck and I couldn’t activate my Finley when I drew it.

I beat it on my second run. What turned the game around was when Mass Hysteria killed all his minions and did next to nothing to my only minion. I guess I lucked out.
