Gift Exchange Chalkboard
General Information
- Earn a Winter Veil Treat Card Back for your first win in this Brawl. If you already have it, you’ll get a Standard card pack instead. (Info based on previous Brawls, not confirmed yet for hits one)
- It’s the eighth time we see this Brawl. Last time we’ve seen it on December 28, 2022.
- This is a PvP Brawl.
- Brawl’s format is Wild.
- It’s a Constructed Brawl – you need to pick a Hero and build your own deck.
- If you don’t already have one at the start of your turn, a Winter's Veil Gift spawns on your side of the board. If you destroy your opponent’s or your own ON YOUR TURN, you’ll receive a Stolen Winter's Veil Gift.
- After destroying one, you get to Discover a class card (from your opponent’s class if you destroy their gift or your class if you destroy yours). It will have its cost reduced by 5. No matter whose gift you destroy, one of the cards you receive has a chance to be Hardpacked Snowballs which is an insane tempo swing and you usually want to pick it when it’s offered.
- You really want to destroy as many Winter's Veil Gifts as you can. It seems the cards you get to choose from areΒ clearly skewed towards Legendaries and Epics, and getting (for example) a Tirion Fordring for 3-mana is quite powerful.
- Crazed Alchemist and similar effects are good because they can insta-kill a Gift. Warlock is also strong with Power Overwhelming, Void Terror or Grim Rally, which work well with the Gifts. Similarly, a class like Paladin, which can buff the Gifts and attack with them is pretty nice.
Sanguine Reveler is banned in this one.
This was intended as a response to something below but got posed in the wrong place.
I’d delete it, but I’m not seeing a button to let me do that.
I never realised until reading this, that it’s a chalkboard for the Tavern Brawl menu art. That’s neat.
Desecrated Graveyard has been great. Auto breaking your own box for 3 turns and a 4/4 body each time has been fun

Reno Priest with all the cards that are broken with chests, except confuse since I didn’t have it. Feel free to add.

Good deck. I remember using your original.
But, Sanguine Reveler came up on the list for the updated version, not playable in this format.
Suggestion for a replacement?
And after asking that, took it out of my deck, looked for a replacement, and lo it was an available option. Bug.
Move along. Nothing to see here.
I had exactly the same situation, after copying deck code I saw reveler glowing red like it was banned. Took it out and back in and it was playable. Weird
Here’s my take on it.

No loss with my deck. Tell me what you think guys! Thank you!
Trying it out now, will give you some feedback shortly
Lost the first but won the next 3 so I like it after getting used to it.
I have 10-0…. The key is to immediately take all crates from the opponent so he doesn’t get any π
Against a good deck the opponent will never leave their own crate up to survive until your turn, so this wouldn’t work. You need to destroy your own crates to compete.
Step 1, copy deck code
step 2, load deck
step 3, gg

First time posting here, but I built a deck that I liked and wanted to share it. I can’t get the deck builder to work so I’ll just post what I have. Keep in mind this is just using cards I currently have:
Warlock:
Dark Pact – 2
Grim Rally – 2
Plague of Flames – 2
Power Overwhelming – 2
Sanguine Reveler – 2
Soul Fire – 2
Spirit Bomb – 2
Crazed Alchemist – 2
EVIL Genius – 2
Scorp-o-matic – 2
Youthful Brewmaster – 2
Unwilling Sacrifice – 2
Void Terror – 2
Ravenous Pterrordax – 2
Valdris Felgore – 1
Twisting Nether – 1
I’m sure there are other/better cards to use. I considered using Depth Charge instead of Soulfire, but not sure about that yet. Thank you.
Nice list.
Here’s a deck code for something similar:
AAEBAf0GBNsKl8sCy+wC8fcCDZ8DoQbOBs4HxQnhugLnwQL40AK90wKJ4gLchgOInQOdqQMA
Uses Mossy Horror, Stampeding Kodo (both are a bit slow tbh) and Kooky Chemist
Worked great, thanks for posting it
Hi
I post a video of this event on youtube here :

Just the classic priest deck except for death wing card
good game π
Update: Itβs the fourth time we see this Brawl. Comments below this one are old, but can often still be relevant!
You can share your decks in the comments and we’ll feature them in this post! π
I made a neat Priest Deck with a 100% enemy concede rate by turn 3 or 4. Inner fire for your box and topsy-turvy for their’s is a very powerful deck combined with radiant elementals. Strongly recommend it.
The gifts rewards are deathrattles, so deathrattle decks let you get multiple gifts out of your own boxes. I did deathrattle hunter and got so much tempo by turn 3-4 it was over.
Are you f kidding me? I didn’t play last week’s brawl because I didn’t want any cardback
You’re lucky man! π
Well lesson learned.
Apparently I am offered a card pack because I got the card back last time =O
Although I love playing warlock, I hate brawls like this. Brawls that one class is absolutely dominating and others “have some chances” are too boring.
Sanguine Reveler, Pterrodax, Ratcatcher, Void terror, Grim rally and soulfire are all warlock class cards with less than 4 mana cost. Add 2 copies of cards like crazed alchemist, Void ripper and Scorp-o-matic to have a perfect near aggro deck for this brawl. Huge reduced cost for discovered cards AND high chances of getting actually good cards makes a comeback from this type of deck nearly impossible.
if it was standard, the gap between class power levels wasn’t this obvious. but good wild cards can offer the player ahead serious tempo and guess what? Almost always, warlock player is ahead.
overall, play warlock
Turn 4 win warlock

i made a deck with priest,
notable priest cards:
circle of healing + auchenai souldpriest, confuse, shadow word pain, dragon fire potion, and all the steal cards
notable neutrals:
doomsayer, crazed alchemist, kooky chemist
With the addition of Kooky Chemist (or whatever it is called), I would mention it in the tips alongside Crazed Alchemist.
What is the reward if we already have that card back ?
You get a Classic Pack if you already have the card back.
One thing to note about this brawl is that you get presents when gifts die on YOUR turn. I was facing a guy and his explosive trap killed my present, but I got the gift.
i believe it says the gift goes to current player
Any basic/cheap decks recommended for this brawl?
Hi,
Tempo mage (http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/tempo-mage-deck-list/) with forgotten toarch is great π
Playing this list:
-2 Arcane Blast
+1 Forgotten Toarch
+1 Etheral Conjurer
Best regards
By the way, the reason why you get a lot of epics and legendaries is that you can only get cards that would normally cost 5 or more. And most of those cards are at a higher rarity.
Good to know, thanks!
any decks recommended for this brawl?
This one: http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/gift-exchange-tavern-brawl-warlock/
malylock with 1 crazed alchemist and a void terror is OP shit 9 games winstreak now π
secret paladin is OP for this brawl, you protect your gifts with noble sac then you buff everything to smash your opponents gifts.
