Blackrock Crash Week 1 Chalkboard

General Information

  • You get one Saviors of Uldum for beating four bosses. Beat all 8 bosses to get Ragnaros Card Back (last available as ranked reward in March 2015). Additionally, beat all 8 bosses quickly for extra rewards! Do it in under 1 hour to get a golden Bronze Herald, or under 40 minutes to get golden Recurring Villain.
  • It’s the first time we see this Brawl.
  • The Brawl has unique format – it works similarly to Dungeon Run solo content. You play as one of the League of E.V.I.L. members and try to beat a series of eight bosses.
  • Rewards for beating Brawl in under hour / 40 minutes is based on real world time and starts after the mulligan on first boss. (Source)
  • Beating bosses in this Brawl contributes to the global Community Card Reveals. We need to kill 25,000,000 bosses in total to unlock all cards. We get one unlock after getting 25%, 50%, 75% and finally 100% of progress. So the more you play, the more likely that we’ll get there and see those cards early!

After extensive play can say under 20mins is relatively easy…if u got unlucky one time, just try again. UNLESS you play as Lazul. Her deck is all over the place + the most weak hero power (and after getting rather weak legendary -compare to the other villains…wonder if ppl in the dev team kinda dislike her/priest atm). Think Lazul alone deserves a walkthrough.
Mulligan for shadowvisions if able (u have few spells so chances are u will get a copy of an amulet of domination or any other spell treasure u get -like wondrous wand). Also keep amulet of domination to get bosses good minions (since your deck has only a few -.-‘ ) like dranai shaman from 1st boss, flamewalker/ flameimp for 2nd/3rd etc and also the 3mana 5/5 machine from the defence system boss (the -3mana on all spells can be awesome if u have miracles bucket, ofc to know also when to play it so that boss wont kill ya). As for buckets old gods are good if u happen to find them early on (along with the elixir treasure that adds 2x 1/1 of any minion u play in your deck is OP), or the miracles (lyra the sun shrad+shadow visions and other spells)

22mins 40secs, with DrBoom (who i believe is the most easy one to hit under 20mins) +hand of Rafaam (pretty good since most matches end soon) +boombots. Liberal use of hero power, crate of boombots on 4th turn then brawl on 5th close most of games. As with all villains mulligan for small minions / rushes /silences etc for the boss with the donating 0/5’s (if 4+ detonate on same turn u pretty much dead)

took ragnaros down after 28 minutes i’m pretty happy about that. 2x curse of rafaam had never been better.

36 minutes, duplatransmogrified Megafin off of Unite the Murlocs plus took the the Boombots for my early turns.

From there, it was just spamming 8/8s and some random Murlocs.

Finished my run in 30 minutes 04 seconds. Lucked out using Hagatha and duplatransmogged Ysharj then pulled a double robes of gaudiness, nothing like a board of 10/10s by turn 5.

Hagatha’s duplatransformiger is insane value with the reward minions – made a patron deck with the buff of +1/+1 to a minion at the start of your turn, dropping a 5/5 or 6/6 patrons turn 3 regularly was strong, and they grow out of control fast; finished that run under 30 minutes. Did it another time on the 1-cost taunt minion that gets bigger, but made too many of them (13?) so I’d start every match with a hand full of them and throwing cards away. Still won, but not as easily as with the Patrons.

I failed my first attempt with Togwaggle as I ddn’t read the card text properly on Garr and killed his whole board with the Candle killing myself in the process!

Second attempt was with Doctor Boom which went much more smoothly. Got the 3 bombs in play treasure which was very useful and concentrated on a bomb deck. Finished under 40.

Then I went back to Togwaggle and finished 19 seconds slower than with Boom but still under 40. Edwin is great with the coins and several other treasures that draw zero cost cards!

Failed twice with Lazul so far but I plan to beet them with all four at some point.

beat it twice under 40min. Once with shaman by using constantly duplatransformiger to faceless lackey and grabbed spells. Once with rogue: it had already bag of coins and greedy pickaxe as treasures which made it pretty easy go beat fast with. Both closer to 30mins with first try

I was able to finish my run in 37 minutes and 26 seconds! I used Dr Boom and focused heavily on bomb cards. It was quite effective!

Any tips to get throw it in less than 40 mins??

With Robes of Gaudiness I did it on my first try. With that, I ran a Rush + Mech build of Dr. Boom. He has strong buckets with lots of aggressive cards, and his hero power speeds things up early on.

I did it in 42 minutes using Dr. Boom, abusing its broken OP Hero Power (which is kind of control in nature) Choose mostly rush minions and armor, and for treasures i choose Dr. Boom Remote (Summon 3 boom bots at the start) and later i took Hagatha’s Embrace. This deck, while effective, was not very aggresive, so i think it should not be that hard to beat the 40 minutes mark.
Note: at first i thought that Boom’s HP was the same as Mr. Chu’s Undermine, but actually is like that on steroid, cos it cost 1 less mana and it shoufles 2 5dmg bombs instead of Chu’s 3dmg mines.

Please keep in mind that I am not very good at Hearthstone, but here’s what I did when I was able to beat it in under 40.

I played as Togwaggle. While it may seem like he has the most unimpressive hero power, his starting deck is actually really strong and comes with two cards that are treasures in their own right. From their, I mainly drafted thieving related cards, as most of those are creatures with attack and health equal to their cost, but come with the upside of more options.

By far the MVP for combos was Sonya Shadowdancer. Having her out allowed me to easily get a strong Pogo-Hopper or immediately rush down enemy minions with Underbelly fence, or even get an army of spiders from Fal’Dorei spider. My favorite to get as a 1/1 was “The Muscle,” the minion treasure from The Dalaran Heist that gives three free cards.

The main hurdle I had was the middle boss, Garr. I hate this boss and always have. However, he becomes a lot more manageable with the help of weapons as well as minions with rush to ensure all of his firesworn don’t die on the same turn. Remember: If they all die from the same effect, you are going to be taking significantly more damage. Do not try to use board wipes, it will end badly for you. If possible, try to vary their health so that only one or two will be dying on any turn. Even killing them with minions will be better than fragging them all at once due to their triggers. IE if killing three all at once, all three trigger for 3 damage, totaling to 9. If you killed with minions on the same turn, first deals 1, second deals 2, third deals 3, totaling to 6. It’s not much, but small saves to your life total add up over time and could make or break the fight. For best results, try to kill one on your turn and leave another to die to his hero power, saving significantly more.

After that fight I had very little problems for the rest of the run, but I very easily could have just gotten very lucky. I actually didn’t realize there was going to be a reward for completing it fast and was checking to see if there was going to be any other times to beat. The moral of the story is that if I was able to beat it in under 40, you should be able to as well. Just remember that it apparently goes off of real world time rather than in game time.

I used Togwaggle. His Bag of Coins card is insane. At one game I made 20/20 Edwin at 1st turn with that, in another one I’ve played Yogg Saron at 4th.
The Robe treasure with +3 Spell power is also good, I’ve taken 2 of them during the run, so beating Ragnaros was super easy. As the guy above said – probably the worst hero power, but very good starting deck for “rogue”.

Its insane how good Edwin + Bag of coins is…my most impressive one was a 28/28 except for one time i used it along a spirit of the shark getting a 30/30 but playing less cards (He was handbuffed by Hagatha’s Embrace too so he started from 3/3 or 5/5, dont remember well)

Ok, I’ve menaged to go through entire run under 20 min by getting Hand of Rafaam passive twice. I didn’t realize before how hard is to get rid of 2 mana cards from your hand, especially that most of bosses in this brawl has hero powers that has to be used. So with damage ticking turn by turn they were dead usually before 4-5 turn.
No matter what hero you take, if you have this passive available, just get it.

Togwaggle + hand of rafaam and/or Edwin with bag of coins.
