Tavern Brawl An Evil Exchange

This week’s Tavern Brawl is An Evil Exchange! You get to play as either Rafaam or Kel’Thuzad. Rafaam starts with 60-health and has Staff, First Piece Hero Power. You can upgrade this with the card Uncover Staff Piece which increases the power of it. Kel’Thuzad starts with 30-health and 30-armor. You get the Hero Power Necromancy, which draws you a card from the Naxxramas adventure.

Update: 9/6/17

All information is based on the previous versions of the Brawl. I’m going to play it a bit and see if there’s any differences and I will update this post with them!

An Evil Exchange Updates

So there are changes to this Tavern Brawl from the original. It looks like Rafaam’s Hero Power now gives random cards based on rarity starting with Rare. You can upgrade this with Uncover Staff Piece cards up to Legendary. Kel’thuzad’s new Hero Power will draw you a random minion from Naxxramas to your hand (it costs (3) less).

Seems Uncover Staff Piece come down in cost to 2 mana?

Rafaam is much better if you know how to play him and much more fun to play. I played 3 times with him and have 3 wins 🙂 Same as last time. I played him like 10 times and won 8-9 of fights 🙂

Either I’ve lost patience in the last year since this brawl came around or it really was this tedious last time and I’d just forgotten about it 😐

Duplicating Gothik is the most satisfying thing. Too bad Rafaam has too many ways to deal with it d:

Also, is it just me, or did Noth get nerfed since last time? Seemed to be an insta-win last time around, this time he barely does anything…

Noobs. Rafaam doesn’t suck, I managed to win every time with rafaam, and that’s for sure not luck. (more then it’s anyway a general luck game of 99%)

Rafaam, is pretty strong and all you need is to controll the board, which you can achive EZ-ly… but spamming hero power, note: turn 3 u need scepter upgrade!!!

Lol as KT you can pass 1-2 Turns then play Heigen or Gothik. Grats, you won.
There is no way Rafaam can win if KT knows what to do.
With duplicate, counterspell or even Runeblade you just win even more

if you get full staff with coin turn 2 and full power turn 3 AND you have aoe like boots and sulfras and other cheap removal spells you can win but I agree the match def favors KT.

Sorry but I’ve played about 50 games as KT and I’ve yet to win one. Rafaam is the clear winner here… just look at the hero powers: KT costs 2 to get a random card. Any card, any rarity. And it costs full price to play. Rafaam gets legendaries each and every time, and they always cost less to play than normal. Can cost up to 4 less, I think. Rafaam is the clear winner.

Just played one game as Kel’Thuzad and won it. Proves your hypothesis wrong.

Lady Naz’Jar can easily deal with Heigen/Gothik

Omg… really I only won one game with Khellth. ; With Rafam I won 10 games. I say Rafam is better!

Since games last longer I think Rafaam is slightly better.

You should add the emotes for each boss for additional reference. One of my favorite things about the Boss Tavern Brawls is doing the emotes. No better BM than emoting “Failure!” when the opponent Kel’thuzad loses.

My Kel’thuzad game was: second turn counterspell, third turn duplicate, forth turn Gothik the Harvester. only play Gothik the Harvester for the rest of the game

Kel’Thuzad is unbeatable. Why make a game that’s so heavily skewed toward one character. I’ve also had lots of people just give up if they’re Rafaam — before we can even start the game. That’s how bad the character is.

Just like the mage vs the hunter or nef vs rag. Blizzard is horseshit on pre-con brawls and people on Reddit need to stop crying about wanting them.

I’ve won several times with Rafaam. It is very doable. Keep trying.

Doesn’t work since you have more than 1 of any given card type… Reno is worthless for Rafaaam. You have to play a good control strategy.
