A New Year Bash Chalkboard

General Information

  • Earn a Standard card pack for your first win in this Brawl.
  • It’s the sixth time we see this Brawl. Last time we’ve seen it on January 5, 2022.
  • This is a cooperative Brawl.
  • Brawl’s format is Wild.
  • It’s a premade decks Brawl – just press play and play as either Druid or Rogue.
  • Work together with your partner to decorate the tavern for a celebration. Each turn you can use your Hero Power to spend your remaining mana until you progress to 25 decorations. After that, the Pinata Golem spawns on the board and you will have to deal damage to it using minions and your hero power. Once you destroy it, the game is won.
  • Since it’s a co-op Brawl, keep in mind that your “opponent” is really your ally, so you want to keep them alive, help them draw more cards, and so on. Beneficial effects that are mirrored work well since you both can take advantage of them.

    I like those cooperative brawls.
I got a competent partner and solved it at the first attempt.

I also remember mechazod. It was more challenging, but also quite some fun

What’s with this pre-made deck? 12 games and not even close to winning. Plus the addition of newcomer who didn’t know how to play co-op and burns my deck with draws. Geez.

The only lucky one I had was a full board summoned from my opponent help, along with Survival of the Fittest card in hand, I manage to deal 52 damage to Pinata in one go. I would sure turns up dead next turn since both of us had less than 5 health.

Having an inept partner is basically death.

However, I love this co-op type gameplay and wish they had more brawls or a game type. I remember another with Rag, if I’m not mistaken.

I think co-op mode was on the wishlist they published about a month ago but it wasn’t a top priority.

Not again. Co-op should means we can atleast discuss what we should do, instead of doing non-sense emote. Sometimes I want to point out,
“Don’t heal me yet, I haven’t put the secrets!” or “Please use your HP, instead of killing bunch of Party Crushers every round”.

This is not co-op games. This is blind date. And it’s frustrating.

I had someone naturalize my prize vendor on turn 3. I quit immediately.

But not being able to communicate also adds to the challenge.

I’m pretty sure you can play it with a friend if you want to do it that way too.

It’s funny how I got a Turalyon of the druid spell and instantly won hitting the pinata hahahah

You should probably mention that despite this is repeat brawl, the decks are actually updated.

kill your tanks or opponents,is little unbond from the situation.stay both alive .get the piniata and then kill again the higher tanks and make dmg on the piniata.from the piniata you get spells like heal bonbons or both players draw a card…
would be nice,if people sometimes readin the forum.
instead of cooping hero decks to go on legend.the most aren t able to play with new cards or something different, like cooperate.so many egoistics … like in our real world.
i wish, we could play in coop mode, more often.i like that idea.
    thx blizz team

I completed it on my first attempt with some random person.. i don’t know if the decks are always the same but I was druid and they were rouge..

for not know what was going to happen it was pretty fun

Gosh, when Blizz will realize that at this kind of brawls they have to give big tip at the beginning of each match informing players that they have to co-operate? I’m sick of all these players who are just killing my minions because they can’t realize that they will loose when I’m dead… And of course all these druid who shuffle their Jade Idols into the deck…

    Hate this brawl so much.

While I agree that they need to make it more obvious that its co-op, shuffling idols into the deck is the right move. Both decks are draw oriented and you can easily get a 7 mana golem to one shot the party crashers.

Took a couple of failures until I got partnered with a Druid who knew how to use Jades – though, it took me a couple of attempts to work out that probably the best things to Sap/Shadowstep are the 5/7 Party Poopers (?) that spawn after the Piñata is on the board.

I was the Rogue each game.

Gotta ‘love’ the person who’s in control of the Tavern Brawls.

No, not an idiot at all . For if you are, then so am I . I don’t know what I”m supposed to do either. I have won four times , most most of the time both of us lose.

Took me a bit! Help your opponent stay alive, kill the tanks that pop up (yours, as well, with any spells you can use on them) and throw all your minions as the piñata boss! It’s actually pretty amusing once you get it.

This sucks, my opponent gets the pinata 3 times in a row and I did all the work and get nothing.. whats in the pinata?

Why can’t we get a Boomsday pack instead of a Classic Pack?

    • Eclipise
      August 9, 2018 at 9:56 PM

Its so that all players have access to the standard set which includes classic, would you wanna spend coins/money on a classic pack?

        August 9, 2018 at 10:32 PM

Boomsday was released 2 days ago. Some of us don’t have half of the expansion, 3 free packs isn’t enough to survive for the upcoming meta.

One question. If u kill the piñata, does ur partner win too? Coz i saw his hero explode. I’d feel so bad if he wasn’t considered a winner too. :\

Yes, I was afraid of that my first game as well. My second game I let my “opponent” get the final blow and I did win.

      August 8, 2018 at 5:14 PM

No your opponent doesnt win except for the 10 gold if you win 3 times in a row..

Clearly I am an idiot because even after reading this I still have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing.

      Just two things:
      – kill the Pinata
      – don’t kill your opponent

Why does the decoration count go DOWN sometimes when I use the hero power?

    • Evident
      August 8, 2018 at 9:24 AM

I think that’s a bug, it happened to me too but when it changed turns it seemed to be fine.

It seems random on mine, hasn’t added up properly.

          August 8, 2018 at 10:14 AM

Can confirm I hero powered with 10 mana and 15 decorations and on my opponent’s turn it was only at 16 decorations. 1 decoration for 10 mana. Sweet.

          • Semajdiego
            August 8, 2018 at 11:14 AM

Seems like it gives you decorations equal to the least amount of mana spent with a minimum of 1(?). So If I spend 10 mana and you spend 2 mana we get 2 decorations. If we both spend 10 mana, we get 10 decorations
