You might have seen a patch start downloading after opening the client… for nothing to change in the game, you might be wondering what it’s all about. Many players were expecting Patch 25.2 to launch today, given that it was supposed to be the final day of Battlegrounds’ Season 2 (it’s not – the season is still going on). Apparently, it’s nothing of sorts, Blizzard has just released a small hotfix related to some solo content and Mercenaries issues.
But why does a hotfix weigh so much? DeckTech answered this question – looks like it was mostly a “behind-the-scenes” patch, with hotfix simply attached to it:
Client patch rolling out (live on desktop, will be on mobile storefronts once they release it). It’s mostly a behind-the-scenes patch, but there are a few bug fixes in it, too.https://t.co/DldKP9S1CQ

Here are the patch notes for the hotfix. Sadly we don’t know what was changed “behind the scenes”.
1/5 Update:
We are currently in the process of deploying a client hotfix patch with a behind-the-scenes update and the following bug fixes:
- [Solo Content] Fixed a bug where the Death Knight prologue encounter nodes would appear out of order for some players.
- [Solo Content] Fixed a bug where the final fight of the Death Knight prologue could cause a crash for some players.
- [Mercenaries] Fixed a bug where some players could be blocked from entering the Village when playing on mobile.
