Shop Update: Lunar New Year Themed Constructed & Battlegrounds Cosmetic Bundles

First, as a reminder, all of the skins, bundles and a free card back added in Patch 22.2 last week are still available for purchase. But we already have another shop update, this time really kicking off the Lunar New Year celebration event and offering the rest of event-themed skins.

The update is focused solely on cosmetics. And just like always – when it comes to cosmetics, it’s hard to really say whether they’re “worth it” or not, because it all depends on how much you like them and how much you’re willing to spend on cosmetics in video games. But here are all the new additions:

  • Evil From Pandaria Bundle – Demon Hunter and Warlock skins for $9.99.
  • Snake and Crane Bundle – Mage and Shaman skins for $9.99.
  • Battlegrounds Heroes – Three Kingdoms – Eight Battlegrounds Hero skins for $14.99.
  • Battlegrounds Bartender – Elder Starsong – Alternate Bartender skin for $9.99.

The Constructed skins are “lower tier” ones, which means that they don’t include any new animations. They just have new portrait and new voicelines for the base emotes. However, they’re only $5 each, so . Sadly, you can’t purchase them separately, so if you like one of the skins from teh bundle, you have to get both of them or nothing.

As for the Battlegrounds, $15 is the regular price for a similar Hero skins bundle. Eight skins for $15 makes it less than $2 per skin, but it’s Battlegrounds, so there are over 70 Heroes and you can’t exactly choose which ones you will get to play every game – that’s why BG skins are cheaper. Then, Battlegrounds Bartenders include a new skin and a complete new set of voicelines. $10 is the regular price for Bartenders, so again, there’s not much to talk about here.

Check out what they look like below. You can purchase them in-game or through the Battle.net shop.

I’m a little tired of the billion portraits we have for Hearthstone’s regular heroes. Just give us more characters to play with. We have 83 different Jainas when people like Varian still have no hero representation in this game.

I’ll never get why the bartenders aren’t cheaper. It’s eye candy only for you, so as dumb as it may sound, it should cost half of the ‘public’ eye candy that you can show off with.
