Shop Update: Standard Pack Bundles, Battlegrounds Season 2 Pass, New Constructed Skins (Update: And More BG Skins)

Update: It looks like Battlegrounds got its separate shop now, and there’s a bunch of skins there, including a free Scabbs skin you can claim. I’ve updated the post adding those.

It’s been a while since the last shop update – it’s the first one after the release of Runestones, so I think that Blizzard will push them out more often now to see if people actually buy anything with the new premium currency. This week we have some pack bundles, new Season Pass for Battlegrounds and a new Druid skin bundle. Keep in mind, though, that those “Standard bundles” are often personalized and you might see different versions of those (I’m not sure if that’s the case now too). Here are all the new items:

  • Battlegrounds Season 2 Pass (1500 Runestones or $14.99) – Battlegrounds just got revamped with a new rewards/XP system and this is the first battle pass. You get to pick from 4 heroes instead of 2 by just buying it, and then once you grind BG XP you unlock more cosmetics.
  • Magical Guardian Elise Bundle (1500 Runestones) – New Druid skin (Tier 1) + new card back + 5x Druid card pack.
  • Standard Bundle (1000 Runestones) – Random Standard Legendary Card + 10x Standard Card Pack
  • Mini Golden Standard Bundle (2500 Runestones) – Random Golden Standard Legendary Card + 5x Golden Standard Card Pack
  • Golden Standard Bundle (5000 Runestones) – 2x Random Golden Standard Legendary Card + 10x Golden Standard Card Pack
  • Star Scout Scabbs (Free) – A free BG skin for Scabbs Cutterbutter Hero.
  • Battlegrounds Heroes Skins (150 Runestones each) – New BG skins for Vashj, Cariel, Deryl, Eudora, Rafaam and Xyrella.

Reminder: 100 Runestones = $1, so if something costs e.g. 2000 Runestones it means that it costs $20.

This is often the reason I don’t look at the comment section of anything blizzard related. You have writers who make informative, well research guides which is often the first source many players actually hear of new content for games they play, only for it to be rediculed over and over for the very service they provide. God forbid players are interested in what’s going on in the game.

Why do you even keep commenting if that’s the only thing you have to say? We post everything about the game – the good, the bad, the neutral. You can’t ignore, for example, me saying that Runestones are a terrible idea and I don’t like it and then complain that I write about something else and say that I’m paid by Blizzard. I posted those shop updated for like 2 years already and I will keep posting them because at least a part of our viewers are interested in new cosmetics/bundles/whatever.

I feel like you should just quit Hearthstone because it doesn’t sound like you have a healthy relationship with the game.

Yeah, I usually just delete those kinds of comments, but this person keeps commenting super negative stuff all the time and I really wanted to reply.

        Also, thank you 🙂

Reply is better than ban or delete. FTW. I appreciate your hard work here. However not so happy with another battlepass from Blizz.

Thank you. I’m not happy about it either. Not even the battle pass itself, in my opinion that’s okay if it only had cosmetics. The problem is that they paywalled the 4 hero picks. I really hate that. But the only way I would see Team 5 changing it is either people quitting BG in masses or nearly no one buying the new season pass… and I don’t think that’s going to happen, sadly.
