Another shop update dropped today! It’s a mid-sized update with two new and three returning skins as well as two Wild Card Pack bundles. Wild packs aren’t really worth getting unless you plan to disenchant the cards anyway – the problem is that they draw from such a massive pool of cards, and vast majority of Wild cards are unplayable. Even if you play Wild, you’d be better off just getting the recent expansion packs (because of power creep they contain much more playable cards) and use your Arcane Dust to fill in the gaps for older cards. Anyway, here are all of the new items that are available this week:
- Dalaran Kel’thuzad Bundle (1000 Runestones or $10) – New Tier 2 Mage skin + 5 Mage card packs.
- Goldpan Reska Bundle (1000 Runestones or $10) – New Tier 2 Death Knight skin + 5 Death Knight card packs.
- Center Stage Valeera (1000 Gold or $7) – Returning Tier 2 Rogue skin. Originally available from a shop bundle in March 2023.
- Daring Fireheart (1000 Gold or $7) – Returning Tier 2 Shaman skin. Originally available from a shop bundle in July 2023.
- Goulash Garrosh (1000 Gold or $7) – Returning Tier 2 Warrior skin. Originally available from a shop bundle in October 2022.
- Wild Bundle (3000 Runestones or $30) – 30 Wild Card Packs + 2 Random Wild Legendary cards.
- Golden Wild Bundle (7000 Runestones or $70) – 20 Golden Wild Card Packs + 3 Random Golden Wild Legendary cards.
Tier 1 skins are “premium” ones while Tier 2 are more basic. In general, Tier 1 skins tend to include more extra features like completely new emotes, Hero Power animations, unique Hero tray, or some extra visual effects. Some of those might also be included in Tier 2 skins, but usually only 1 of those special features is present (if any). It’s not an official classification – it’s just something we use to differentiate between more basic and premium skins! Blizzard has added their own “rarities” for Battlegrounds skins, but they haven’t done it so far for Constructed (other than Diamond & Legendary Heroes).
New items usually stay in the shop for around 1-2 weeks – sometimes it’s longer (3 or more weeks) but I wouldn’t universally count on that, so if you’re interested in one of them, get them soon.
the wild bundle is a cruel joke.
we just had 20 standard packs and 2 legends for 20 euro.
charging 30 euro for 30 wild packs and 2 wild legends puts wild cards at a higher price, while at the same time the card strength is much lower due to the ongoing power creep over the years.
once i thought i could assemble a complete hearthstone card collection at some point in the future, but after i opened some “reprinted legends” from caverns of time, which still leave the spot of the original card as missing (so i would have to get them twice to complete the collection) i lost my interest in that quest
