Rastkhan’s Rumble is the final expansion for the Year of the Raven! Our expansion guide will feature a card spoilers list, gameboard art, card backs, general artwork, and more! We’ll be updating this guide immediately following the release of any new information.
Rastakhan’s Rumble represents the 10th full set Hearthstone expansion and the final expansion of the Year of the Raven. It will be interesting how this expansion does, with The Boomsday Project being semi-disappointing due to the lack of making many waves in the meta and mostly bolstering already existing decks.

Rastakhan’s Rumble Pre-Order
The pre-order for expansions has been changing with each release. Last expansion they offered two different bundles, one had 50 packs and one had 80. With the 50 pack bundle you got a free golden legendary card and a card back, but if you splurged on the 80 packs you were given a sweet Mecha’Jarxxus Warlock hero! The previous one to that was probably the best bundle for value, it was the standard $49.99 cost but instead of 50 packs you were given 70! Whatever it ends up being, this is most definitely the most value you will get when purchasing packs.
In Rastakhan’s Rumble you will have two different choices. The Challenger’s Bundle which is the more budget option, will get you the “Ready to Rumble” Card Back and 17 Card packs for $19.99 USD. If you want to splurge and go for the big daddy, then you will want the Rastakhan’s Rumble Bundle! This includes the new Alternate Shaman Hero: King Rastakhan, the card back, and 50 Card Packs for $49.99 USD. You can pre-purchase right now at the Battle.net Shop!
Rastakhan’s Rumble Visual Card Guide & Spoilers List
There will be 135 new cards in Rastakhan’s Rumble expansion. Just about every expansion follows a pretty standard flow in terms of rarities. Each class will get two legendary cards, this is usually at least one minion, and the other could be a spell, weapon, or new card type. Classes will then typically get two epic cards, three rares, and three commons. For Neutral cards, this can kind of change based on the expansion, but there can be around five Legendaries, nine epics, nine rares, and a whole bunch of commons.
In this expansion, we’ll be getting a Legendary Troll Champion for each class, as well as a Legendary Loa. The Legendary Loa appear to be cards of great power, and they have strong synergy with the Spirit cards of the same class.
Below you will find cards sorted by class and a visual look at what is still left to reveal.

Single-Player Content: Rumble Run
It looks like we’re going back to the rogue-like style of battle in the single-player mode in Rastakhan’s Rumble. You will face off against eight of the most fearsome troll contenders! Learn more about this with our full Rumble Run Guide!
In the single-player mode for Rastakhan’s Rumble, Rumble Run, compete for glory before cheering crowds in a no-holds-barred smackdown in the Gurubashi Arena! Players will choose a troll champion and climb the ranks in this gladiatorial contest to be crowned champion.
Choose Your Team
You start your run by picking one of three randomly selected Troll champions. This choice determines your class for this run and gives you a powerful minion on the board at the start of each match.
Shrines
You and your opponent both start with your shrines in play. Your shrine grants you a special boon tied to your Loa.
Win and Grow Strong
Advance in the Rumble and add powerful spell and minion cards to your deck as you progress.
Cinematic Trailer
Every expansion usually comes with a pretty awesome animated trailer. If we’re lucky, some of them even come with a catchy song that goes along with the new release.
Announcement Trailer
The announcement trailer is a bit different, it introduces some new cards and some of the lore behind the expansion.
Troll Champions
Each class is represented by one of the Troll Champions and a Team Spirit representing one of the Loa. You can see how they each correspond to a class below.
DRUID – WARDRUID LOTI – CHAMPION OF GONK’S RAPTORS
Loti keeps her distance from the other Rumble competitors, preferring the company of her dinosaur loa Gonk and other scaled companions. Druids will discover that she’s a master of shapeshifting and claw-to-hand combat.
HUNTER – ZUL’JIN – CHAMPION OF HALAZZI’S LYNXS
Warlord Zul’jin is reckless, bitter, and has a chip on his shoulder that’s even bigger than his blade. He’s is more than willing to unleash the primal power of Halazzi the Lynx loa upon his competitors, but he’s got a special knack for the mystical side of the hunt.
MAGE – MALACRASS – CHAMPION OF JAN’ALAI’S DRAGONHAWKS
The fury of Jan’alai the Dragonhawk loa fuels Malacrass’s fire on the Rumble field. Despite a flair for the dramatic, Malacrass is a clever opponent. He’ll give Mages who are willing to plan ahead access to useful resources.
PALADIN – HIGH PRIEST THEKAL – CHAMPION OF SHIRVALLAH’S TIGERS
This master fighter is a fan favorite! Wielding the Light as a weapon, he can use his healing energy in ways Paladins haven’t seen before. Confident to a fault, Thekal moves almost as quickly as he talks, dancing around his opponents for the crowd.
PRIEST – PRINCESS TALANJI – CHAMPION OF BWONSAMDI’S ZOMBIES
As princess of the Zandalari Empire, Rastakhan’s own daughter calls the loa of the dead, Bwonsamdi, her companion. Talanji will aid Priests in turning their foes’ own might against them if forced to fight.
ROGUE – CAPTAIN HOOKTUSK – CHAMPION OF GRAL’S SHARKS
This charming and flashy pirate has come ashore to claim her share of glory in the Rumble, and she’ll lie, cheat, and steal to get it! Rogues who choose Captain Hooktusk as their champion will find that she rarely goes anywhere without her loyal crew.
SHAMAN – ZENTIMO – CHAMPION OF KRAG’WA’S FROGS
The crowd finds this witch doctor mysterious, quiet, and more than a little unsettling. He’s content to let his giant frog loa, Krag’wa, do the fighting while he helps Shamans master channeling elemental magic.
WARLOCK – HIGH PRIESTESS JEKLIK – CHAMPION OF HIR’EEK’S BATS
The shrieking, shadow-skulking aspirant of the bat loa Hir’eek revels in the boos she gets from the crowd. Warlocks willing to make the right sacrifices will find Jeklik a useful champion who seems to be everywhere at once.
WARRIOR – WAR MASTER VOONE – CHAMPION OF AKALI’S RHINOS
Voone finds kindship in the rhino loa Akali. He’s a simple troll—he loves loud drums, a roaring crowd, and a raucous after-party—but his former employment by the Black Dragonflight will give Warriors special insight into the ways of dragons.
Gameboard
Each expansion gets its very own customized gameboard! These boards will usually have a lot of various items for you to click on to pass the time between turns, and some of them even have secrets that can only be revealed by clicking things in the precise order! We’ll feature the board below once it’s revealed.
King Rastakhan’s Hero Art
If you grab the full pre-purchase bundle then you will get the King Rastakhan Hero Portrait for the Shaman class!
Card Backs
Most expansions have a couple of card backs celebrating the release. One you can usually get by purchasing the pre-release bundle that is usually the best bang for your buck in terms of packs and value. There will be one you can grab that is from the ranked season, and finally there should be one unlockable by finishing up the single-player content that will be revealed. We’ll have all of those listed right here once we learn more!
There’s two card backs that we know about currently. You can get the Ready to Rumble card back be pre-purchasing the expansion bundle, and the Rumble Runner card back is gained by completing the single-player mode, Rumble Run.
Full Card Art
One of the best parts of every Hearthstone expansion is the great new art that comes out during the reveals.
Cinematic Stills
Cinematic Stills are high quality images from the Cinematic Trailer! These are awesome shots of some of the great art featured in the video.
Key Art
Key Art represents the primary artwork used to get across the theme of the expansion to the other artists that end up creating card art. It’s usually a very flavorable piece of art that sets the tone for the expansion, and makes pretty good wallpaper for your desktop!
Leaks
Another small leak for the expansion has just come through. Looks like the pre-purchase bundle is going to have a hero portrait just like The Boomsday Project! We aren’t sure about the class, but I would imagine it being either Priest or Shaman.
Information about the expansion has leaked via PC Gamer and was shared via Reddit. It matches up exactly with the recent YouTube leak that gave us the likelihood of an expansion about King Rastakhan.
Once every generation, Azeroth’s Troll tribes come together to compete for the blessings of the Loa and the favor of King Rastakhan. The no-holds-barred battle forms the basis for Rastakhan’s Rumble, the next Hearthstone expansion, which was just revealed today as part of the BlizzCon opening ceremony.
Nine teams will take part in the latest iteration of this time-honored Troll-down, each led by a Legendary Troll Champion representing one of the Hearthstone classes. The Loa, ancient spirits worshipped by the Trolls, will also take part in the fighting as Legendary minions. Shirvallah the Tiger is the Paladin Loa, which costs a cool 25-Mana to cast. You can reduce that outlay by casting spells, but even so it seems like a restrictive price for an effect that’s probably only going to be good in incredibly slow control decks.
[…] has revealed all the cards coming to Hearthstone in its impending, troll-based Rastakhan’s Rumble (sigh) expansion, and inarguably the most […]
Bom!
Muito bom!
I am glad to be one of the visitants on this great internet site (:, appreciate it for putting up.
See y’all in 3 months, ttyl.
Have a good rumble.
Weak expansion, waste of money.
Foolish mortals- Play interesting new decks and have fun in a new standard meta
Me, an intellectual- Play weasel preist in wild with the new troll champion and spirit totem.
Loa not champion
LOL what a great idea!
I made a deck with that weasel idea and it seems pretty good.
I mentioned your name in the description.
4 more cards
Blizzard Press Release concerning Druids: So… Swarm was a bad choice. The only solution is to apply the warrior treatment here, because lets be honest, taking a class out of the meta for a year is just good business. It gives times for everyone to forget your terrible mistakes *swarm*, and lets people make off-meta decks to try and resurrect the class. I mean who isn’t excited for all the die-hards to make hero attack druids a thing. No weapons? No Problem! Go your own face!!! Show that hunter how its done.
[…] Rastakhan's Rumble Information Guide […]
People keep rating cards low because it won’t fit in their favourite decks but this entire expansion is just to ‘shake up the meta’
Shake up the meta with inferior decks yes. I want my Paladin board clear already.
Is Wild Pyromancer + Equality not good enough? I think it works fine.
Paladin already has plenty of board clear options.
Evident
Alright, remaining predictions:
Druid: Champion: shapeshift mechanic (hero attack/armor, buffs to minions from attacks) and Loa: big beasts in the form of dinos
Hunter: Champion: overkill mechanic based(Not sure how this will work as a hero card) and Loa: Rush and small beast buff. This maybe a deck where the Loa and Champion support each other directly instead of being two different mechanics
Mage: Already released
Paladin: Champion will be healing based. I see something along the Glass Knight idea? Healing will reduce cost or buff cards.
Priest: Hard read, but I see the champion going in the rez/death rattle direction from the theme.
Rogue: Positive that Champion is a pirate card, and judging by other cards, it’s going to do an action based on number of pirates.
Shaman: Loa is a bit hard to read. The go-to would be overload based (unlocks overloaded mana start of turn?) but we only have one card showing this as a possibilty.
Warlock: Already released
Warrior: I already called dragon champion, but forgot about heavy metal, so I’m thinking Champion: Dragon and Loa: Armor
Another shot of Blizzard trying to make discard warlock work, will they finally manage?
And pirates might be a thing again, don’t know how I feel about that (I was pretty happy when patches and other good pirates rotated out).
Well, only time can tell I suppose.
Pirate is definitely a thing. Rogue Champion is going to have a pirate related effect. I’m liking the discard mechanic this expansion. I don’t play wild, but it opens up a possibility with clutch mother and silverware golem
So, Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t it looks like each legendary (Loa and Champion) is created for a different play style? Looking at ‘lock, the bat is for boosting in hand while Jaklik is for discard? I have some predictions, namely for warrior being overkill/rush for Loa and Dragon-based for Champion. Let’s see if I’m right.
The loa will always have synergy with the spirit, the champion doesn’t need to have any synergy with either but can
Misread your post… just ignore me
So far this set looks good..I hope the good gets better and every class gets equally powerful cards….
I thought Talanji’s loa is Rezan. Is it confirmed that priest’s loa will be bwonsamdi ?
yes
I don’t want to spoil anything, but if you haven’t played the new WoW expansion you should look up the lore.. it’s an awesome story how it all went down, and it’s still a story in progress
95% sure there will be a pirate even-rogue in meta.
Thats what i was thinking too when scrolling down the cards….glad i h crafted genn
That theme song is just awesome!
I love the fact that we get decent free stuff. One Free Legendary Loa, two Spirit cards from the same class, and six Rastakhan’s Rumble card packs! For Logging in. You can also Save the the Gold from the incoming 5×100 Gold quests coming up today, and you can also save the Dust from the 6 Freepacks Boomsday today.
So you got in worse case about 11 Packs, one Legendary, 2 Spirit Cards, a little amount of Dust and hopefully a lot more saved Gold, cause you can start keeping it from today easy. you will get about 10 more packs from Gold, if you Play a decent number of games with daily quests.
So i like it!
Did they mention when reveal season is going to start? They surely wouldn´t take the default two week break with the expansion only being a month away.
Came here expecting to find the date.
I guess we will have to spam the refresh key.
I mean, I don’t know why wouldn’t they do that this time around, since they did it for the last few times. Boomsday Project, for example, was announced July 10 and the reveal season started July 23 with August 7 release. It was similar for The Witchwood – revealed on March 12 with the first reveal stream happening on March 26, and the expansion released on April 12.
The last two reveal streams have happened on Monday, so my educated guess would be November 12 if they want to go for a longer reveal season, or November 19 if they want to go for a shorter one, like the one we had in Boomsday (which went only for like 10 days).
It’s a bit weird that they haven’t announced when the reveal season starts yet, which might suggest that it’s the latter.
Why not make a minion type ‘troll’ instead of basing cards around pirates?
Because blizzard.
Because tribes =/= races. They don’t have a separate tribe for Human, Undead, Tauren, Orc itd. so why should they have one for Trolls?
Also, in general, cards in Hearthstone have only a single tribe, which would create some issues. For example, an Undead Pirate – would it be an Undead or a Pirate? That might be addressed in the future, but it’s a bit problematic for now. The only multi-tribe card is Nightmare Amalgam, and this one is pretty easy, because they’ve just said “All” and it’s simple/clear on the bottom of the card, and the full list of tribes is listed in the card’s description (which wouldn’t be that easy on a card with an actual effect).
This is so frustrating. I like Rastakhan’s look so much, but I can’t afford the full bundle. And I missed Tyrande too! How, When will we be able to get these heroes otherwise?
My guess is that limited time Heroes such as the ones you get from each Standard year, or from the pre-purchase bundles, are not going to come back. That’s what happens in most of the games – being limited is a part of their appeal. People buy them, because they know that they won’t be able to get them later and it will be pretty unique in the future. Adding another way to acquire it later might feel pretty bad for those previous customers. But of course, Blizzard can change their mind and bring those back in the future.
There were plans to bring back Tyrande, since the promotion was really limited and unavailable in many parts of the world. As far as I remember, she was already brought back in China. As for the rest of the world, it’s hard to say when and if it will happen. I’m personally waiting for that, because I didn’t want to register under fake US address before to get her and she wasn’t available in Poland.
I’m somewhat confused by the ‘new card style’ tag … what does that mean? The Spirits aren’t exactly new in any way… just normal minions. So I guess ‘New card style: Loa’ doesn’t mean nothing in regards of game rules? Shirvallah and Hir’eek are Loas, right?
It doesn’t mean anything as far as I know, maybe “new card theme” would be better?
I think is kind of the same deal as for example the “Spellstones” in Kobolts n Catacombs or “Portals” in Kharazan. Both of those example are technically just regular spells, but without having a special tag, they are a unique group of spell that share some similarities in how they work and seem different than other spells. this is the same but with minions.
As others already said, it’s more of a theme or flavor than game rules. Among the examples named here, there are the “omega” cards, that take the same concept.
So im guessing priest is getting the hero card this expansion.
I think they already said it was Hunter getting the new hero card
Umm, what? All the teams have loa’s expect for priest who has Bwonsamdi, who is either going to be a hero card or a minion for no reason while the lynx loa is the new hero card.
Bwosamdi is a loa, the loa of death 🙂
I think it would be very much like Team 5 to mention the hunter hero and then completely surprise everyone with both hunter and priest heroes. Just a possibility and definitely not keeping my hopes up.
Zul’jin will probably be the new Hunter’s Hero, that’s what they’ve slipped during “What’s Next” panel. But it’s not 100% confirmed, and well, there might be 2 Hero cards this expansion too.
Oh okay i must have missed that thanks
It’s confirm for Zul’jin, but where did you see that there would be 2 heroes?
Nowhere, I’m just saying that it’s a possibility. They did one Hero per expansion so far this year, but they’ve never said that it’s a rule or something. If there was a time to add more than a single Hero card, it might be now, given that there are a lot of pretty well-known characters (especially for the current WoW players) in the current expansion.
Edit:
Never mind, Peter Whalen has said that Zul’jin will be the only Hero card this expansion: https://twitter.com/LegendaryFerret/status/1059453438616993793
My point was just that unless it’s not officially confirmed, there’s no rule about 1 Hero card per expansion 🙂
If I pre order today will I be able to use the new card back and shaman hero right now?
I thought so and ordered … but unfortunately i cant see my packs, got no card back and no hero…
I hope there is an update coming next week
Maybe content is available not before the expansion releases!? I can’t remember how it was handled last time you preordered through battle.net …
After the last patch, you can already use the new card back and Shaman Hero in the game!
Here goes another $200… Down the drain… when do they start the card reveals??.
They haven’t announced it yet. Reveal season is usually opened with a bigger reveal stream, most often on Monday or Friday. My guess would be Friday 16th or Monday 19th.
But we should see some more cards in the blog posts / videos that explain the new mechanics before the reveal season starts in full force, at least that’s what happened in the last 2 expansions.
Ayyyy Quest Paly, my favourite deck
Time Out is sooo OP. You will have enough time to bounce two death knight to complete the combo in time!!! Can’t wait to try it.
The expansion topic sounds very interesting, I expect this expansion to be the best expansion of this year.
Ooooh Damn
hand buff warlock..?
And cannon barrage is like a better “Greater Arcane missiles” ain’t it
And Ayyy, a new version of Kingsbane, but Kingsbane is probably still better
Do we get any freebies? A Free Legendary?
It was in one of the press releases, we’ve added it above: “When Rastakhan’s Rumble is released, simply log in to claim a free Legendary Loa, two Spirit cards from the same class, and six Rastakhan’s Rumble card packs.”
“If you want to splurge and go for the big daddy then you will want the Rastakhan’s Rumble Bundle!“
-Probably Stonekeep, or whoever wrote the page, 2018
It was me, I confess.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g5Hz17C4is
The real question is if tempo mage can be saved or not… any new archetypes would be nice though.
Most probably mid range mage is a concept out there, with astromoncers and elementals.
True, but this mediocre legendary appears to not help any mage ladder deck
Hey, Blizzard! – “Do you need protection?”
I wanna say Shirvallah sounds unplayable, but maybe this will help with the K&C legendary? Sunsorrow, was it? Is Spell Paladin gonna be boosted with this?
It definitely helps the survivability of quest pally, spell pally, buff pally and even control pally. We will definitely see what happens because shirvalla also enables corpsetaker and can be drawn with countess ashmore.
No clue what that Paladin card even does, but it’s sure to cause some highrolls with Prismatic Lens.
Premise of the expansion sounds great!
Lol what? Blizzcon didnt even start yet. Set the website too early on public?
Someone at PCGamer screwed up and leaked it. At this point it’s 99% confirmed that Rastakhan’s Rumble will be a new expansion.
It was leaked right ?
