Possible Next Expansion Hint – Greetings from Gadgetzan Postcard

With BlizzCon on the horizon and the likelihood of a new expansion coming soon we’re on the look out for potential clues. The official Hearthstone Twitter just posted this “Greetings from Gadgetzan” postcard. There’s a lot of tiny text bordering the graphic, here’s what it says:

If you’re unfamiliar with World of Warcraft here’s a brief description of Gadgetzan:

Gadgetzan is a neutral goblin-made trading outpost where the races of Azeroth, epecially goblins and gnomes, can share ingenious inventions and ideas with one another. Currently, Gadgetzan is the only spot of civilization in the entire desert of Tanaris. Explorers can find most gear that they need here, as well as a place to escape from the blistering sun and other dangers of the desert.[1] Rising out of the northern Tanaris desert like an oasis, Gadgetzan (Gadgetzar or Gadgetar in some tongues) is the headquarters of the Steamwheedle Cartel, the largest of the Goblin Cartels. Here some of the best goblin engineers, miners and alchemists ply their trade. The goblins believe in profit above loyalty, thus Gadgetzan is considered neutral territory in the Horde/Alliance conflict. Anyone with a fat wallet or services to offer is welcome in Gadgetzan. Both governments officially recognize goblin neutrality, and for those who don’t, the streets are heavily patrolled by goblin bruisers ready to pound to a pulp anyone disrupting their trade by instigating conflict. Why the goblins choose to build their trading towns in such inhospitable locations is anyone’s guess, but once again, they defy logic and the hot sun with their wondrous city of Gadgetzan.

So… Blizzard already purchased the domain?

They purchased A domain, doesn’t mean it was the one for this particular expansion. I doubt Blizzard would call out the expansion name in the first teaser.

This is included in the Oct 20th 2016 patch notes:

Ethereal Peddler now reads “Battlecry: If you’re holding any non-Rogue class cards, reduce their Cost by (2).” This was done to make it more clear, especially with upcoming releases.

So, we will probably be seeing some more card card stealing or something of the like, can’t really know for sure but.. we do know an update is coming ??

Same here, or at least something different from older expansions, so let’s see what’s coming!

Eh, for some reason I doubt this has to do with the new expansion. We’ve already seen a goblin expansion, I don’t know how they could change a gadgenzen expansion enough to make it original.

I’m guessing there’s going to be more postcards displaying different locations. Gadgetzan will likely be a piece of the expansion, but not the main theme.

Interesting point. We could see more greetings in next days, I have some theories:

          1. Greetings from many different port or harbors (Theramore, Ratchet, Menethil Harbor, Booty Bay, etc). So pirates could be the main theme.

          2. Greetings from random different locations, so Location Cards would be the main theme (similar to WOW TCG).

          3. This is a different theory. In the large message around the post, they mention a lot of different cards, many of them are classic, so a classic rotation? a huge expansion is coming to replace them?

“Goblins believe in profit above loyalty.” … better start saving your Gold now, I’m guessing this will be an expensive one!

So they now have announced possible changes to tavern brawl, ranked/ladder, a new game mode(heroic brawl), legend rank and now a new expansion?
With them already adding a load of new quests and changes that don’t nerf cards.
The next update is going to be a big one and it will probably change hearthstone as we know it.

Heroic brawl isn’t a new game mode, it will be one of the weekly tavern brawls.
