Blizzard has just tweeted out more info about the October 22 “Fall Reveal” they’ve announced recently. Yesterday we only knew that it will contain “several major announcements”, today we have some more details.
Fall Reveal will announce new:
- Expansion
- Game Mode
- System Revamp – by which they probably mean a new rewards system, possibly even achievements which were teased for the third expansion of this year.
At this point we’re sure that it’s a huge deal and stream will be packed with content. In case you won’t be able to watch it live, we’ll post all the new information live on our site & social media, so stay tuned!
As far as system revamp goes, I just hope it fixes the mobile authentication issue it’s had with some service providers. It is super to still get the tavern doors of doom scenario that prevents you from logging in over mobile data. There are some workarounds such as adjusting how you connect via ip6 or ip4 that has worked for some or using a VPN, but it is absurd that this problem has been going for so long and has not been fixed.

“Hey, everyone! Thank you for your patience as we continue to work on this issue. Our team has confirmed what is causing this issue. The problem with this is due to how hearthstone handles IPv6 connections. This does make the issue a bit more complex on our end, but our team is working to have this permanently fixed in the future. We do not have an ETA on when this may be fixed, as it’s not something that we can push updates for and we’ll need to coordinate with other services to ensure this will work for each connection.
At the moment, there’s a few workarounds for this issue. Ensure that the cellular network is using Ipv4 and IPv6. While not supported by us, this should help workaround the issue.
In your device settings, locate “Access Point Names” (APN)
Open the selected APN and copy these settings down or screenshot it for later.
Go to the APN, and create a new APN.
Enter in what you wrote down/screenshot in step 2 into the new APN. Make sure the name is different. Do not save this yet.
Find the APN Protocol on the new APN and change it to IPv4/IPv6. Do the same thing for APN Roaming Protocol.
Save the APN, and make sure its using this APN. Once thats done, restart the phone.
Try Hearthstone to see if this helps.
If you are on iOS or unable to make changes to the APN, please contact your provider for assistance. Some devices automatically have the settings through the SIM card and cannot be changed through the settings. Alternatively, we’ve seen that switching from LTE to CDMA has helped some users.”

That’s it for one work around they shared there. This one hasn’t worked for me but it has for others so I figured I would share it here as well.
What has worked for me is using a free VPN app there are usually lots available from whatever app store you use. I’d recommend doing some homework first and picking out one you find reputable free vpns can sometimes be a bit sketchy. I would list the one I use by name but I’m not sure what Hearthstonetopdecks rules are on mentioning things so specifically.

I can just hope for the System Revamp to include some kind of upgrade to the client, it desperately need adjustements now more than ever with the inclusion of Battlegrounds.
I agree, but I wouldn’t hope for that yet. I think that at one point they should just scrap everything and release 2.0 version of the client. It already shows its age – the client didn’t get any serious updates ever since game’s beta in 2013. And the more stuff they add, the more clunky & slow it will be.
But releasing a new client is always a huge task, so I think that they’re trying to push it as far away as possible.
