New Shop Is Here! Buy Wild Card Packs & Adventures In Game – Tyrande & Sylvanas Heroes Will Come Out Tomorrow With Descent of Dragons

The shop’s overhaul is finally here! When you open it in game, you should see the new version already. I hope that they take this opportunity and add more interesting things eventually, such as other cosmetics.

Here’s a quick run-down of what the new shop has to offer:

  • Wild card packs and Adventures that have already rotated out are now purchasable in-game. They were already purchasable before, but through Battle.net shop online (so most people didn’t even know that).
  • Wild card packs are now available for Gold – previously you could only buy them for real money. Sadly, it seems like you still need to spend real money to get Adventures.
  • Two Hero portraits will be available at the shop tomorrow with the release of Descent of Dragons – Sylvanas Windrunner for $9.99 and Tyrande Whisperwind for free (everyone who doesn’t own her will be able to claim her).

I got 12 legendaries from both bundles. One of them was a Golden Alexstrasza! That was a mind blowing pack opening!

Anyone notice that you Will Get a free c’thun if you dont have it when opening a old gods pack? Its probably a glitch that Will Get fixed soon, so if you dont have it buy an old Gods pack quick before they fix it.

It’s not a glitch, that’s how it’s supposed to work 🙂 That’s how everyone got their C’thun back in the day, you could not find him in packs, everyone got him for free after cracking open the first Old Gods pack.

Are there any other packs that do this?

        • Nope

Expansions that you haven’t opened before will give a new legend within 10 packs, otherwise no.

Not fully sure about this in older sets. I got my first legendary from GvsG set after 30-40 packs.
And I was actually buying those because I also thought that it should be so.
Did not made same mistake with Grand Tournament even that I planned to buy both sets until first legendary.

Disclaimer. As those sets are old and so em I there could be that I might have opened those 10 first before, but I don’t recall dusting any old wild legendaries so I believe that I really haven’t got those before.

    Any news on battlegrounds emotes?
    Currently find them pretty poor.

Mike Donais said that they aren’t thinking about things like monetization or cosmetics yet in one of the interviews – they want to focus on the gameplay first and then handle those after the Beta.

League of Explorer $19.99?? Upto 45 new cards?
Blackrock Mountain $24.99 only 31 cards
Curse of Naxramas $24.99 only 30 cards

Can we expect an article with the best wild packs to buy?

As a wild player, I find it best not to buy wild packs at all if you want to play on the ladder
The expansions, Blackrock mountain and League of explorers yield reno and tharussian, but not much else. You can buy tharussian almost individually (1 wing) for $5 + tax
For the other cards, it is cheapest to buy enough of current sets (as long as you play standard) that you save up a bunch of dust. It is difficult to open the legendary you need to finish your wild deck, and there are, as always, many bad ones. (Worth noting, I say this as someone who started playing in Gadgetzan, so I built up collections of Gadgetzan onward buy buying packs at the time of the set, not in wild. I have crafted all other important wild cards)

That being said, Gadgetzan, old gods, and KotF are some of my favorite older packs.

If there is an expansion you haven’t played buy up to ten (untill you reach a legend), because then you will get a legendary at least.

We’ll take a look at this topic some time after Descent of Dragons release (because for now we’ll have to focus our attention on the new set).

You definitely should not fish for specific Epics & Legendaries from older expansions, because you would need to open tens or possibly even hundreds of packs to find them. But we’ll look at the sets with most playable Commons and Rares (that also have some worthwhile more expensive cards just in case you snatch them), because you can reliably get those after opening a relatively small amount of packs, and crafting Commons is a pretty bad deal.
