Blizzard has just dropped what looks like to be a teaser for the upcoming expansion. Based on how the other two expansions of this year were revealed, the teaser was posted the day before the actual announcement for both of them. If that holds true, then we can expect a full announcement tomorrow (October 17). That’s also when the Patch 27.6 should drop – hopefully with something more than just expansion info!

As to what the teaser points toward… It looks like a pair of cowboy boots thrown in the air. Are we visiting the Warcraft version of “Wild West” next? That might be an amazing theme for an expansion. Interestingly enough, the theme was never really explored in Hearthstone. We had some “cowboy” accents here and there, but it was mostly cosmetic. So there’s a lot of room for unique mechanics and artwork.
There was actually a leak yesterday – my policy is not to share expansion leaks, but if you’re curious, you can look it up yourself. But if you didn’t see it, you should probably just wait until the announcement.
We’ve already speculated for a while now that the next expansion will probably be released earlier than usual, and this is basically the final proof we need. As of right now, evidence points toward a November 14 release date, but keep in mind that it’s not official so it might still change.
The new expansion be released in mid November is too early. Though in December is better.
Blizzard had accidentally leaked the expansion name by showing off some blizzgear merch for BlizzCon. They have since removed the items from blizzgear store but people took pictures. I won’t spoil the name but yep cowboy boots.
Funnily enough, the N’Zoth battleground cowboy skin wears the exact same boots 😉
Yeah, I also noticed that. They were probably cut from Cowboy N’zoth’s artwork for the teaser 😀
