In case you aren’t aware, Lead Hearthstone Designer Dean “Iksar” Ayala has been on a break for a while now (paternity leave), but he’s coming back to work soon. In preparations for the comeback, he wanted to create a list of ideas he would pitch at the rest of the team once he’s back. For that, he also asked for community input – over the weekend, he received hundreds of responses from players, and today he compiled an early list of the ones he liked the most (+his own ideas).
Keep in mind that those are all just the ideas he will present to the rest of the Hearthstone team. They are not currently being worked on and most of them probably won’t come to life in the future. But there’s a high chance that some of the next, big new features that Team 5 will work on are on this list:

Report players for bad behavior? So when I just let myself die in a tavern brawl so I can complete a quest, I now could be banned?
Or you quit immediately because you drew 3 coldlight seers, speaking of the current brawl.
Seems like a giant waste of time to me.
The grass is always greener on the other side. The quickest way to screw up the game is to brainstorm a bunch of things to muddy up the interface in-game instead of just being content to play the game. Rather than trying to turn the game into a glorified social platform. Remember when the game first came out and the thing that pulled you in was the clarity and simplicity? I always cringe when I see the ideas that Iksar pushes. Especially the card market. The game is not set up for that economically. Just farm your dust. Otherwise you’d just be making a whole different type of grind (trade grind) which would NOT be a good idea. I really shouldn’t have to spell it out. A select few people would find the way to have every card or float them around constantly. How would that be a good idea to create even more time wasting relating to the HS grind? This is the opposite of logical design, which is already present in the game. There wouldn’t be dust if cards were tradeable.
I really want a task tracker on the merc profile page. I am trying to focus on mercs that are close to the end of task progression so I can get packs, in hopes of getting the new mercs. Knowing what task a merc will get next would be really helpful in that regard. Also, there are a lot of mercs, and my old brain can’t remember which mercs hace done task 18 already,
Yeah that would be great and when you get the stranger, it should tell you what task # it’s offering.

Guys, the game has 1 serious issue. When creating a deck on wild (android) it doesn’t let you search and pick your cards. It MUST be fixed. The search button is stuck on the infinite symbol.
Nevertheless, I really hate that APM mage can play much longer than the normal time on a turn. And if you stay alive it takes much of your turns time. Moreover, the number of cards that you play on APM mage is based on how fast your processor is which is totally unacceptable.
I believe that this stuff should be fixed alongside some pirate nerfs.

I think that’s a known issue and they’re already working on a fix. I would expect it in one of the upcoming patches.
A little disappointed not even to see some sort of coin exchange for mercs.
I just play the daily tasks and I have 1000s of extra coins for a handful of mercs at this point. I bought 15 packs with gold to get the 3 new mercs. They’re all kinda weak tbh.
No reason to spend any real money on the mode if you can pull things that literally offer no value in the packs.
This issue isn’t on the list most likely because it was already addressed a few weeks ago. We don’t know what it will be yet, but devs have confirmed that they have plans for something to do with Coins after you max out a Merc.
I hope that it will come out in the next major Mercenaries update.
Simplest thing may be to just reshuffle your excess coins when you max a merc and block receiving those coins in the future.
But some sort of slot machine would be more fun imo.
