Masters Tour Stormwind is over! It was the fifth (out of six) Masters Tour event of 2021. Just like every Masters Tours this year, it was planned as a fully online event right from the start (hopefully we’ll be back to offline events soon enough!)
Over 400 skilled players from around the world, who qualified through tournaments or high ladder finishes, fought for their share of $250,000 prize pool, and a chance to become a Grandmaster in the future. However, only 8 of them qualified for the quarterfinals. You can find all of their decklists and some statistics below!

Masters Tour Stormwind Champion – Furyhunter!
The fifth Masters Tour of 2021 has come to an incredible close, with Frederick “FuryHunter” Adam Møller beating fellow European Jim “badajimpom” Boer 3-1 to secure the championship and $25,000 (USD) in prizing!
FuryHunter has been a staple of the competitive Hearthstone scene for years, securing championships at both DreamHack Summer 2018 and HGG 2019. Entering Sunday with a 7-1 record, his final day was far from certain. Despite a swift 3-0 victory over WEStone in the Top 16, his journey to the final was fraught with adversity. Quickly losing two games to MaggoGx, he fought back to secure a reverse-sweep to advance to the semifinal 3-2. Against Chinese powerhouse VK.msbc, Furyhunter again stumbled early on, yet through a combination of luck and high-pressure skill he was able to once more reverse-sweep 3-2 to claim another win.
The Danish star’s OTK Demon Hunter lost to badajimpom’s Quest Warrior. Not waiting to have to pull another reverse-sweep, FuryHunter took the next three games as he beat badajimpom’s Libram Paladin with OTK Demon Hunter and then Aggro Elemental Shaman. At match point, FuryHunter secured the championship as his Quest Warrior overshadowed badajimpom’s Aggro Elemental Shaman!
6000 $ are 5166 € so from 5 to 8 it’s basically 3,8 months of my salary, that’s good but not life changing and if you end 9 or more, you are screw. Definitely streaming is much safer.
Oh men. That price pool… Where I’m living right now, it’s like finish Top 8 worth 15 months of my salary (after apply 35% taxes on the price).
Dreaming on work morning… ^^
I’m from Poland, so $25k prize for the first place is also a lot here. Many people don’t earn that much in 3 years. Even 6k for Top 8 is like a yearly minimum wage.
But then again, the prizes aren’t even that high considering how hard it is to place in Top 8 – first you need to get through the elimination tournaments or finish Top 16 on the ladder, then you need to fight against 400+ players in the main tournament itself. That’s why so many pros have quit competitive and started full time streaming instead – it’s just a much safer way to get the money.
Yeah, I know. It’s really hard by it self make a Top 8. Not thinking about make it consistently over a year…
Just another dreaming monday morning at work. 😉
