It’s official – 2020’s Hallow’s End event is starting tomorrow! The previous “event” – Forbidden Library – wasn’t received well by players, because it didn’t feel like one. Masquerade Ball is definitely different, adding much more stuff, including some bonus packs for players.
Event Trailer
Elementals in Battlegrounds
A new minion type is being added to Battlegrounds – Elementals. We’re getting 4 new Heroes and 16 new minions.
We’re detailing this part of the event in another post – check it out here!
Dual Class Arena
Dual Class Arena is back, just like the last few years. During the event, you will pick not one, but two classes and then be able to draft cards from both of them (as well as Neutrals). During the event, each hero will also have a unique, Halloween look.
We’re also getting a free Arena ticket in case you want to test it out, but don’t want to spend gold.
Book of Heroes – Rexxar
After seeing Jaina’s story last month, it’s time for Hunter’s base Hero – Rexxar. On October 13, we’ll get to play through 8 lore-based missions. Finishing all of them will give players one Hunter card pack (containing only Hunter cards from the current Standard rotation).
And while it wasn’t announced yet, just like last time, we expect a Rexxar Bundle with new Hero portrait + 5 Hunter packs to be available at the release.
Legendary Quests
Players will be able to complete a chain of Legendary quests that will award 9 card packs in total during the course of the event. Here’s what you need to do:
- September 29, 10:00 AM PT: Play Dual-Class Arena to earn 1 Scholomance Academy pack, 1 Ashes of Outland pack, and 1 Year of the Dragon pack.
- October 6, 10:00 AM PT: Play 50 cards in any mode to earn 1 Scholomance Academy pack, 1 Decent of Dragons pack, and 1 Year of the Dragon pack.
- October 13, 10:00 AM PT: Defeat Leoroxx in Hearthstone Book of Heroes: Rexxar to earn 1 Scholomance Academy pack, 1 Saviors of Uldum pack, and 1 Year of the Dragon pack.
Be sure to keep a free Quest slot when those will come out – if you don’t, they will replace one of your existing Quests.
Secret Quest for Golden Transfer Student
Up until now, golden version of Transfer Student was unavailable to the players. Everyone got the regular version for free, but golden couldn’t be crafted or obtained in any other way. Until now!
We don’t yet know what you need to do exactly, but we’ll share once we find out. And in case you want to figure it out yourself, here’s an official tip:
We’ve identified an itinerary in the dormitory that outlines an intention to visit Dalaran, Uldum, Dragonblight, and the Black Temple. Scribbled on the back is mention of playing Rexxar’s tale in Hearthstone Book of Heroes, and at least one match in both Battlegrounds and Arena.
You sure everyone didn’t get a free ticket?
In my opinion, the official tip suggests that in order to get a golden transfer student one should play one match of arena, one match of battlegrounds, and finish Rexxar’s story.
i don’t get why in Arena they’re saying expires in 3 days but the quest is today? So I guess it’s posible to play 3 days old vs new Arenadeck?
Mostly taverns and arena stuff, the book of heroes & battlegrounds, legendary quests are great of course, but the transfer student secret quest is really the cherry on top here.
What will happen if I’m in the middle of arena match and don’t finish before the event?
(Copying the reply for other comment)
That’s how it worked last time, so I would assume that yes – you can leave the Arena unfinished and you will get the rewards for the amount of wins you have + a free ticket.
For this event can I keep an unfinished arena? Will I receive the prizes and an extra ticket?
That’s how it worked last time, so I would assume that yes – you can leave the Arena unfinished and you will get the rewards for the amount of wins you have + a free ticket.
But why the h wouldn’t you just finish it out the arena??
Because you’ll get a free ticket on top of the prices you get!?
Regarding said free ticket: Actually, looking at the last ‘event’, I’m not so sure if it’ll work this way this time. :/
The free ticket happens either way….you’re just shorting yourself higher rewards for more wins…wtf kind of reasoning is that
Like I’m solidly sure they won’t give you TWO tickets, that’s what the warning is for. I think you’re confusing what someone told you about getting a free ticket and thinking they mean another.
Sorry for the late reply.
When you have an active open run when such an event starts, that run is closed and you get the rewards for that run. On top of that, you get a ticket for an new Arena run (compensation for the fact that they closed your unfinished run).
So, if you finish your run, you don’t get that free ‘unfinished closed run’ ticket.
PS: It worked this again this time. 😉
I see. Not how I would go about it.
You sure everyone didn’t get that same free ticket? Seems way more logical.
