Lead VFX Artist Hadidjah Chamberlin Leaves Hearthstone For “Another Blizzard Project”

Hadidjah Chamberlin just announced on Twitter that rececntly she left Hearthstone team and started working on another Blizzard project. She has joined the VFX team back in 2016 and became the Lead in 2019. Hadidjah has been responsible for many iconic Hearthstone effects, such as the ones from Death Knight Hero cards or Un’Goro’s Volcano. She has been very active recently, showing up during different events (such as BlizzCon or the recent card back live creation stream) and promotional videos (like her great performance in the Ashes of Outland trailer).

Hadidjah also mentions that nothing will change in the VFX department, as most of the effects for the recent expansions (since Rise of Shadows) has been done by the rest of the team. Still, we’re going to miss her!

We also wonder whether “another project” she mentioned is the same project Mike Donais & Peter Whalen left for earlier this year. (She confirmed on reddit that it’s not the same project, although she helped a tiny bit with it too!)

Their pronouns are they/them, not she/her.

She changed to a Demon Hunter and went to Outland, of course she isn’t coming back.

Hearthstone is a weird and amazing game where the creators actually show their faces and shoot sketches to announce the updates. She is talented as a VFX artist AND as an actor!
