Lead Designer Alec Dawson Leaves Hearthstone Team for An Unannounced Blizzard Project

Lead Designer Alec Dawson has just announced that he’s leaving the Hearthstone team. He’s joining an “Unannounced Project” at Blizzard. Interestingly, if you remember some previous devs that have left Hearthstone team (Mike Donais and Peter Whalen), they have also announced that they will be working on an unannounced project – could it be the same one? It’s been almost 2 years since they left, and we still don’t know anything about it.

You probably knew Alec most from all the final communication he did. Most of the time we’ve got a patch teased earlier, balance changes revealed, or a future roadmap lined up – it was through Alec.

Any future “final communication” should be done by Chakki or Gallon.

We’re very happy for him and glad that he’s looking for new opportunities, but at the same time, we’ll miss him a lot!
