Many people were wondering about the upcoming balance patch (teased last week) in relation to the Heroic Brawliseum, but now we know. It looks like Blizzard has decided to push the Brawl back by a week, which is a good decision in my opinion. This week’s Brawl, which was supposed to end a day early, will end at the regular time and then it will switch to another “normal” Brawl.
There were only two real options – release the patch on Tuesday or postpone the Heroic Tavern Brawl. Releasing a patch in the middle of Brawliseum made no sense and it would make a lot of people rightfully angry. Nerfing the decks they just paid 1k gold to enter with would be very rough. Even releasing the patch on Tuesday would be quite questionable, depending on how big the changes are – such an expensive Brawl launching in an unstable meta might also make some players unhappy.
The news also pretty much confirms the patch timing – it will most likely get announced/teased on Tuesday and then released on Thursday. This kind of schedule seems to be the new standard for balance updates outside of the major patches, so it’s not a massive surprise, but it’s still nice to know.
Attention brawlers! We’re pushing the Heroic Tavern Brawl back one week to give you more time with our balance changes, coming later this week. The current Tavern Brawl will no longer end one day early; instead, this week’s will. Details on this week’s changes coming soon!
