If you planned to run Tavern Brawliseum tomorrow in order to unlock one of the new Death Knight skins available, I have some good news for you. Blizzard has made a mistake and released the Quest as “Play 3 games” instead of the originally planned “Win 3 games“. It’s a massive difference since now you’re guaranteed to get the skin after doing just a single run, even if you go 0-3.
They released the statement acknowledging it – they won’t change it for this Heroic Brawliseum since it already went out. However, the bad news is that they made it abundantly clear that it’s not intended to be this way, so it sounds like they might go back to “win 3 games” in the future, or at the very least they haven’t decided yet.
The 12 wins portrait stays the same, so if you wanted that one instead, you still have to hit 12 wins in a single run.
In case you forgot, here’s how the portraits look:

Hey there brawlers,
The Heroic Brawliseum is kicking off tomorrow and we know many of you are excited for the high-stakes competition and prizes! The Legendary Quest chain for the Heroic Brawliseum went live today, in preparation for tomorrow’s kick-off. That Legendary Quest chain awards two new Death Knight skins for people who compete and do well in the Heroic Brawliseum.
Some of you may have noticed that the first step of the Legendary Quest chain now only requires you to play 3 Heroic Brawliseum games, instead of win 3 Heroic Brawliseum games. Simply put, this was a mistake on our part. As initially announced, the intent was that the Frostmonger Sai Death Knight skin would be earned by winning 3 Heroic Brawliseum games.
We’ve decided not to change the Legendary Quest back to the original version this time. Frostmonger Sai will now be able to be earned by playing 3 Heroic Brawliseum games during this Heroic Brawliseum period, regardless of the outcome. The Crimson Knight Sai skin will still be available for the players who accomplish the incredible feat of 12 wins in one run, and we plan to continue to offer challenge-based prizes in future Heroic Brawliseums.
If you’re interested in learning more about the Heroic Brawliseum reward structure, check out the 26.2 Patch Notes 47 before you jump in.
One more note: If you have a full daily quest log, and an event quest, and the new Legendary Quest for the Heroic Brawliseum, it might appear in the client like the Legendary Quest has taken up one of your daily quests. Don’t worry, that missing daily will appear after you’ve cleared a space for it and then restarted the client.
Actually came online to check this because I just thought to myself “eh I’m bad, I kne I’m bad, I don’t care for gold because I’ve been f2p for the entirety of getting King Andy and I’m fine with whatever home brew mess I make each expansion until the last month where I can patch together a semi-level headed deck and—let’s waste the pitiful 1k gold I have to give it a go”…. Lost all thee, didnt regret it non, checked my quest for other things and saw the brawlisuem one had progressed? Went to collection and saw it now said participating in it rather than winning.
Was very confused, thought bug and came to check, so thank you for posting about it 🙂
Given Blizz’s low hand tactics before, I would not be surprised if this “mistake” was intentional in an attempt to appease the community with regards to the nearly unobtainable 12 win skin. They will have the numbers and will be able to see if the amount of gold spent on the event increases due to their perceived mistake .
Huh, I don’t even like playing DK, but might just put in the gold anyways. After all, if anyone regrets not snagging it the frost skin now, they would have to wait a good amount of time for a chance of getting it.
