Important note: We still have issues with deck codes. Instead of using “Copy Deck Code” button, use the code posted BELOW each deck!
Our Hearthstone meta tier list ranks the top decks for The Great Dark Beyond expansion. We always try to include one of the best deck lists for each archetype. However, if you’re looking for an alternative, we also link archetype pages so you can check out different versions.
If you win 5 games on the Hearthstone ladder, this is the card back you will receive this month (Season 129):
Meta Tier List Rankings
If you are curious what the absolute best decks are right now, here’s a list of them below. This list of deck rankings is based on various sources including Vicious Syndicate, HSreplay, as well as our own ladder experience. The provided decks are sample lists and aren’t always the only option when building for that particular archetype (for a full list of decks, click the link below description).

I HOPE SHAMAN DIE WTF IS THIS WEAPON DELETE THIS FCKING CLASS
Add Stickyfinger to your decks for extra %%%
Aggro DH is a total disappointment. I like Soul DH
Really guys? Totem shaman>ANY priest deck possible?
100% Agree. There are a total of 10 cards that cost more than 7 in all of the tier one decks combined. 2 of those are Mogu and half are in Pure Paladin ????
I’m not normally one to be negative but man this meta sucks. I hope they bring out some cards to slow the meta down for the mid-season expansion. I want to play with the old gods and not get totally destroyed by brainless agro the whole time.
Can’t wait to try libram paladin with yogg, it should be fun
There are lots of comments in here currently, yet almost all from ages past. Makes it a lot heavier to load up and scroll through the article. Perhaps you guys should consider having a separate one for each expansion rather than constantly stacking layers and layers of updates (which are more like full text replacements anyway) in this style?
I remember before when they had hiss complaint, they said it was so that people searching for tier lists on e.g. Google could find this page more easily, as earlier (now irrelevant) lists won’t show up in the results, and also it’s probably along the lines of this page getting more “hits” and being effectively more popular than other sites (which is probably important for the algorithm) since it is always the same page each time it’s updated, as opposed to creating a new page each time.
That said, if it’s causing problems, surely they should be able to hide old comments so they don’t load by default. (Disclaimer: I don’t personally know much about making websites, but I’m fairly sure other sites have this sort of functionality)
That’s a good point. Irish Seadog already explained why we don’t create a new post for every new update, but the 600+ comments all loading really makes the page too heavy. I’ll look for a way to hide the old comments (e.g. display only the latest 50 on the first page) or just delete the old ones. Thanks for the feedback.
Love playing as a secret rogue!
Shaman is currently very weak, but I only play shaman!
I played a lot with Pure Paladin and, though super strong, it has some HUGE vulnerabilities. (1) It is especially vulnerable to Devolving Missiles; (2) it can’t clear the board, making it vulnerable to fast decks like Demon Hunter; (3) Bomb Warrior can deny two of the strongest cards in the deck, as bombs count as Neutral cards.
The issues you point out about the flaws of Pure Paladin are correct in the fact of devolving missiles, this is because you lose buffs and libram’s of wisdom in the process. However, Pure paladin can clear the board using a combo of Libram of Justice and Consecration. it is also a good board clear as it only targets enemy minions and Libram of Justice is often discounted from Aldor Attendant and Aldor Truthseeker. the final part is false because the two cards that only trigger if the deck is Pure Paladin aren’t the strongest cards in the deck. they are far outclassed by Libram of Wisdom. Bomb Warrior and Highlander Priest are both bad matchups for the deck because they are able to clear the board easily and destroy minions easily using things like Coerce and Shadow Word: Death
How is illusion mage doing?
What are your views on the fact that Paladin deck is very strong in this expansion but no one is bringing it to the GM games. Do pros just despise playing paladin?
How come TempoStorm has a different tier list (and sometimes other cards) than this list? Just interested to learn where the difference lies.
The wild list is shit…
It hasn’t been updated for Scholomance Academy yet, we’re working on that.
Man stay polite when you ask something and show them some respect for the hard work they’ve done on this site, damn.
I sort of feel like Gala Warlock deserves a spot instead of totem shaman. It does really well against most of the top decks and has a chance against almost everything. I’m at D2 with it and still climbing
Thanks for the update! but i think that totem shaman and big warrior should be WAY higher. also why didnt you include illusion mage?
Totem Shaman is pretty weak, sadly, and while it has its moments, I don’t think it stands up for the rest of the meta. Big Warrior I thought about putting higher, but the deck was outclassed by Bomb Warrior for the last 2-3 days so I had to put it lower.
And Illusion Mage has low enough sample size that I can’t really put a number to it… It’s really hard to say how good it is right now. Opinions vary from an actual good, meta deck to terrible meme build.
I’ll do another big update after 2 weeks or so, when the meta settles 🙂 Or after a balance update if we’ll have one, of course.
yeah in the balance update i hope they nerf illucia. she’s just as annoying as leeeeeeeroy jenkins.
Are you gonna put Totem Shaman on here with the decline of DH and Rogue? I have encountered a lot of them and they do pretty well against slower builds that cannot deal with the totems quickly. I have also encountered a lot of Murloc Paladins recently. Or are you going to wait a few more days before you update this list?
Feels bad for shaman and paladin. Hope they’ll get significantly stronger cards in the next expansion
Yeah, those two classes have been by far the weakest this expansion. Every other class had at least one viable deck at any time. I also hope that Paladin & Shaman get some love in the next set 🙂
Before Ashes expansion:
“I guess Blizzard will finally handle the Hunter class and there can be some new, fresh format;”
Post release:
“This is getting out of hand! Now, there are TWO of them!”
Please when you update it add quest warlock and libram paladin those are two decks that are super fun and are actually playable after the recent patch
Hey, just updated it and both are on the list 🙂 I mean, it’s Pure not Libram, but Pure seems better (and obviously also runs Libram package).
Yea that works, thank you much
Does anybody know in wich legend position do you need to finish to get the 11 stars bonus? I can’t get the information anywhere
Yeah, you can’t get the info, because Blizzard didn’t share it and no one really knows. I’m pretty sure it’s not so much a specific position, but rather top X% of players (maybe 10-20%). The number of players in Legend vary between servers and seasons, so a fixed number wouldn’t be the best idea.
Thank you for letting me know how it works!
Anyways, I think the reward is too big. With the extra star, you can hit legend with a loosing win rate even in diamond 5 to 1. I am all right with the new sistem but I think that to be in legend in any single season you have to work for it and at least be able to do the +15 in ranks 5 to 1.
its around 2500 legend points. i tested out that and it worked for 2 months.
@stonekeep
We would really appreciate a Crafting guide. Any ETA on when that might be available?.
I’m holding on to some dust just to get a re assurance from yourself.
Can this be right? After the debacle that was AoO launch, all 10 classes are now actually represented in tier 1 & 2?
I would say pretty much yes. I think that Shaman is the weakest class right now, Totem Shaman would probably be in Tier 3. But since we’re not doing three Tiers, I’ve decided to put it on the bottom of the list. It’s still a pretty viable deck, though, so I’d say that every class has some solid representation in the meta.
When I was playing galakrond rogue i met a quest galakrond shaman and he spawnd 4 8/8s and i was like, “hum……wtf just happened.”
I think with the pandamic the designers were simply given the direction to just not mess the competitive game up, and it led to one of the more decent metas in a while.
As a f2p player, I love the posted dragon hunter list. Only two epics plus adventure, but it was only losing to warlock and now that warlock is much less popular, it beats both slow builds and demon hunter.
Wow can anybody talk about paladin lovers suffer
It is an absolute joke that the Warrior class has been left in the dark. I have not seen a single warrior deck featured as a top beat deck in over a year. There is not a single decent warrior deck that competes and there has not been in a long time… what the F*** blizzard? All the other classes are OP and Warrior is absolute sh*te!
It is super annoying because warrior is my favourite class to play but every single expansion, warrior gets average cards while others get amazing cards…
I don’t understand why they can’t give warrior some.decent cards so it can compete…. makes the game unenjoyable!
And for context.. i have played every single warrior deck there is. None of them over an average of 50 games can compete against the like of priest, mage, rogue and demon hunter… when are we going to see a warrior deck feature in the top list???????
now
Galakrond Warrior last season was way good, I think Warrior has definitely had some pretty good decks last year.
Dude im a warrior player too i have 1200+ wins and i can tell you, you’re wrong af. Yes since after ungoro warrior was bad i even remember that but since the launch of hs warrior was top 3 classes ever. Control warrior is something developpers dont want back in the game that’s probably why they nerf it from time to time. Basically in standard for the past 2 years odd and dr boom warrior was fucking everywhere warrior was S tier idk ehat youre talking about… they basically made boomsday to buff warrior since it got slack for a while. You can be happy that’s it your favourite but fiery win axe was a huge nerf idk how they will return that ever.
Danivani is a pure idiot. ’nuff said.
Gotta love how he complains that “fiery win axe” got nerfed and he thinks that makes some huge difference.
A card that he only used for pure misplaced aggro. What a dbag.
ever tried egg enrage warrior or tempo enrage warrior? they’re at least Tier 2, beating hunter, rogues, and demon hunters consistently
Sorry, but I have to disagree. Control Warrior & Bomb Warrior were very strong in Rise of Shadows and Saviors of Uldum until Dr. Boom, Mad Genius nerf. Then Galakrond Warrior was one of the best decks last expansion. Warrior has been present in the meta in one form or the other for nearly the whole last year.
Also, Eggro Warrior (Tempo Warrior, Aggro Warrior, Egg Warrior, however you want to call it) is a pretty good deck now, many pro players are having success with it and it was pretty common in the Grandmasters last weekend. But even if Warrior had no good deck right now, okay? It happens? Every class has its ups and downs, e.g. we had times when some of them (like Shaman or Priest) were bad for many expansions in a row. Warrior is really doing okay looking at the history of Hearthstone, it might not be the BEST class ever, but it’s definitely above average (remember oldschool Control Warrior, Odd Warrior or Pirate Warrior for example).
I personally have been playing Brian Kibler’s Quest Warrior. I really enjoy it and has given me fairly good results. I strongly recommend checking it out.
You are so wrong. Here’s my stats playing egg warrior, all games are played in legend. https://gyazo.com/056e7e1fcfba2d26d39cb17b8cb1a6f4
I crafted Galakrond warlock and it plays so nice that I’m honestly scared the devs might nerf it
Guess i spoke too soon , sacc pacc is getting nerfed to target only friendly demons (alongside massive DH nerfs) The good part is Jaraxus is coming back into the meta.
Dude this card was great ik but we can still replace it or maybe use?
Another thing, I have seen madam Lazul in a lot of highlander priest decks, do you think it’s required/Good to put in (I accidentally disenchanted mine).
“Accidentally “ yeah you were probably one of those netdeckers who got her back when she wasnt anywhere and you dusted her to craft stupid netdeck. Dude never disenchant i was being so fucked by the years by disenchantments i packed her and everyone was telling me to dust her free 400 dust blah blah. Well i didnt m, same thing with hadronox. Never dust legs . And lazul is super fun
Dude calm the hell down, it’s one legendary and it doesn’t matter. I tried playing priest and it turns out it’s not very good or fun atm.
Also, I disenchanted her to craft an actual tier 1 deck, since I packed Hanar and a lot of the secrets, I decided to disenchant her to make a good deck, rather than a priest deck that takes about 30 minutes to complete one game rather than 10.
I’ve never dusted anything and I’m way better off for it.
I’ve been playing my own variant of resurrect priest, it’s got galakrond but no upgrades (priest needs to have a constant flow of minions and it’s normally used in the real late game after you have played your big spells). It contains also reliquary of souls, which is very nice as the upgraded version is extremely powerful in the deck if you draw it quick enough.
Is there any chance we can get some Ashes of outlands profile pics? wasn’t sure where to ask so sorry if I’m not supposed to ask here.
Priest is love
Yep
As a priest main Soul mirror works great as a last resort or to take other powerful minionS and put them in your res pool. Also stumps other players forcing some miss plays or people running out of time. I love using it mainly on DH big demons and taking them especially the 6/7 deal 6 damage at the end of your turn. If they have one on board and you soul mirror it (instant concede) ????
I just hit Legend with Galakrond Warlock. It’s super strong against a lot of other decks currently.
Galakrond Secret Rogue is all over right now. Crushing me at every turn. haha
Demon Hunter is a Tier 2 deck according to replay and in my hands its more of a tier 5 deck I win maybe 20 percent of my games….
Either you’re playing the wrong list or u don’t know the matchups. You can easily have an over 60% winrate with it to legend (: try a list without choas strike and instead at two 1 mana 2/2
And not a single paladin deck. I had a feeling that Libram gimmick wasn’t going to do much lol
Like what happened to all the warrior decks? I mean, just got my 1000 win hero for warrior, got to diamond, and the rotation came in and boom, knocked the warrior out of the window.Just look at the highlander deck you could build in galakrond’s awakening. It was really strong,it got soo much value from cards and now….Now controll warrior is a joke, such as highlander warrior…..The saddest part of it when you build the higlander deck now,and realize that you can not really give any additional value to the deck as a warrior.I mean, yeah sure, got a good prime, but let’s be real here. All the really strong value cards rotated out,and they left warrior with basically the weakest set of cards so far.And what?If i wanna play warrior effectively i have to play that pirate warrior?Come on…Any idea how i can build a control warrior deck or a highlander deck to not S*ck all the time?Or i have to wait for the next expansion to come out?Another thing is,galakrond warrior also unuseable after the rotation, while priest got the biggest buff ever in hearthstone i guess.Awesome!
Fibonacci probably has the “best” CW builds right now, but they aren’t too great. Below is an earlier HTD decklist; I think he’s recently also been experimenting with Bulwark and Ancharrr. Honestly, if you’re a warrior main I think this it a time to try seeing if any of the other classes can temporarily scratch your particular itch (warlock has a pretty good control game right now) and you hope a patch comes along sooner rather than later that shakes things up a little bit.

Thank you for your advice, and your reply!
Try Egg-warrior. It beats a lot of the best decks including demon hunter (:
It’s absolutely sh*t… not a single warrior deck has listed on here in suchna long time. Warrior (a long time ago) had a really good time with control warrior. It was OP so it seems blizzard are now making warrior sh*t and seem to have abandoned it entirely. Not a single warrior deck can compete anymore and as a warrior player, it has absolutely ruined my enjoyment of the game… i literally just concede immediately to every class other than demon hunter, which it can win about 1 in 5 times, which is better than the 1 in 10 times it wins against all the others… really bad how they’ve just abandoned warrior
You are soooo right!
I feel the same way man…. It is just sad…Every other control deck outvalues warrior….And we left with egg warrior….cool…
Waiting patiently for the budget decks 😀
Start with the tempo Demon Hunter list at the top of this list, then substitute any missing epics or commons with comparable DH cards that you do have (e.g., Inner Demon for Metamorphosis).
I think it will be a stretch to get any viable non-DH budget decks in the foreseeable future.
^ this. Tempo DH can be quite cheap with the free new cards.
Also Aggro Dragon Hunter is unchanged from last expansion and reasonably cheap (provided you have Rotnest Drake).
Or is there a particular class you want a budget deck for?
Totem shaman should definitely be added to the list. Quite few players are having success with it, in particular due to very good warlock matchup.
I’ve just seen the deck for the first time 🙂 We’ll see, if it will stay in the meta, it will definitely get onto the list when I update it!
Not sure what deck I wanna craft. Here it says Tempo Demon hunter is best, but Hsreplay says Galakrond warlock is best.
If you aren’t a premium HSreplay user it shows you the winrates between all ranks(from bronze 10 to legend). If you are a F2P player I would suggest you to wait 1-2 weeks until meta stabilizes, plus they already announced with the active Demon Hunter nerfs that in the next weeks there will be small changes to balance the class a bit more.
The decks have a very similar win rate as of now, but it’s still very early into the meta, so things might change in a week or two. However, I’m 100% sure that some kind of Tempo Demon Hunter will be viable (unless it’s nerfed once again), that’s why I put it at #1. I’m positive that Galakrond Warlock will also be good, but I’m not as sure as in case of DH 🙂
Makes sense, Thanks for the advice guys!
Galakrond Warlock is a top deck because it does really well vs. Tempo Demon Hunter, and there are a lot of people playing Tempo Demon Hunter on ladder right now. Otherwise, it didn’t get any great new cards that would have elevated it from mid-Tier 2 to top of the meta so suddenly. If the percentage of Tempo Demon Hunter goes down the win rate of Galakrond Warlock will go down too.
Do we know when or if another set of nerfs will come out?
Devs said that they are going to monitor the current situation closely and let us know next week. So we’ll probably know in a few days!
I don’t know about you buy I definitely feel Demon Hunter does not need any more nerfs, I am doing pretty poorly with it now, anymore nerfs I think would make it unplayable.
Most people are just playing the preset decks since so many cards went to wild
Thanks storekeeper. Looking forward to the release and new hero.
I know thats probably not the right place to ask but i cant help it i need to know it.
If i open up my own fireside and i open the packs earlier do the golden legendaries i become through preorders can double with the legendaries i get through the packs???
Maybe this site is dead and go elsewhere fir current decks?
Where else is there to go?
There are many sites that have good decks
But this site hasn’t been updated over a month and the web master Obviously don’t care about the people who visit it.
I think the Web master here is great actually, he responds well and isn’t rude about it. I enjoy this website a lot, most the people here are pretty chill and respond to my questions well, only website where a can ask questions and be told im an idiot.
Sorry, I’ve been busy with all of the announcements, reveal season etc. for the last 2 weeks.
The meta hasn’t changed much between the full release of Galakrond’s Awakening and the Hall of Fame patch, so there wasn’t much of a reason to update it. And right now the new expansion is right around the corner, so it will be updated after it launches.
We’re updating the site every day, just not the tier list… It’s one of the hundreds of posts on HSTD.
You can always find the latest high Legend decks here: https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/deck-category/style/ladder/
Is this site gonna get updated on standard decks any time soon?
What time does this list get updated every month?
They usually update it before the new expansion, after and before the nerf patches etc. Sometimes they does not update it for 2 months. It will be updated this week i think.
I play mostly mage and over the years have rarely seen it crack the tier 2 list and I find it rather irksome as I usually have pretty decent success, admittedly maybe because I’m not too high up the ladder. I’m just left confused how a deck can be a strong matchup against everything other than 1 class (Hunter), by your own words it is quite successful in tournaments after banning Hunter, and yet be second to last on this list. Granted that may keep it out of top tier 1 decks, or even the bottom, but second to last? That seems to be pretty low. “Pray to the RNG gods”? To play Reno it’s turn 10 (9 under certain circumstances) if you don’t have any board presence yet, you’re playing the deck wrong. There should be many minions on your side of the field by now, probably your opponent too so for that random spell to be A) a pyroblast and B) thrown at yourself, that’s just highly unlikely.
By playing it wrong, I’m referring to Luna’s pocket Galaxy, dragonqueen and power of creation in combo with dragon caster, also tortollan pilgrim comboed with a high cost spell to wipe their board or add to your own (power of creation again) all of these should establish heavy board presence by then and provide plenty of targets on your side alone should Reno manage to drop a pyroblast.
Quick edit: I overlooked the board wipe that is the Amazing Reno in my early comment. You should be able to create the board presence after you drop Reno. At most you should have one turn where you are vulnerable to that highly unlikely pyroblast.
3 Hunter lists in Top Tiers… Nerfs OTW before rotation?
Hey stonekeep I’d like it if you could make a treant druid guide I just got the deck and I’d like some tips. Thanks
