Hearthstone Patch 4.2.0 – Deck Slots, Lady Liadrin New Paladin Hero, Whispers of the Old Gods Pre-Purchase!

Hearthstone Patch 4.2.0 brings along 9 new deck slots, giving you a total of 18 potential decks. It also brings some fancy new UI change, and the Whispers of the Old Gods Pre-Purchase.

New Paladin Hero: Lady Liadrin

Lady Liadrin will be the new Paladin Hero (Skin). You can unlock Lady Liadrin by getting to level 20 on World of Warcraft! Learn more about her here.

You have to have leveled a character to level 20 AFTER 11a.m PST on March 11th, 2016. So, if you’re like me and already have tons of characters over level 20 and haven’t played in a year, you’ll have to level up anyway (and try not to get addicted!). [Source] If you’ve never played WoW before, you can use a free trial (as long as you connect it to the same e-mail as your Hearthstone account) to level up to 20 for free. If you already have an account and aren’t currently subscribed, you can still play any character that’s under level 20 for free. So if you have a level 19 character or below, you can level it to 20 and receive the skin!

New Search Keywords in My Collection

• Golden Cards – Typing in “golden” will display all of your golden cards.
• Missing Cards – Typing in “missing” will display all of the cards you are missing.
• Sort by Attack – Typing in “attack:x” will sort cards by x Attack.
• Sort by Health – Typing in “health:x” will sort cards by x Health.
• Sort by Mana – Typing in “mana:x” will sort cards by x Mana.
• Ranges: Using Mana, Attack, or Health like this: “mana, attack, or health:x-x” will display the cards within that range.

Deck Slots

You can now build up to 18 decks, to view your newly created decks you can use this hand arrow to change pages!

Deck Recipes

These are intermediate style decks that help newer players create and understand how cards work together. If you are missing a particular card in one of these decks, it will give you multiple options of a potential replacement. You can view these Deck Recipes by creating a new deck and choosing a class.

Disenchant or Craft Adventure Mode Cards

You can now disenchant or craft Adventure Mode cards. Keep in mind that while you won’t be able to use your Curse of Naxxramas cards in Standard, it doesn’t mean they won’t have use in Tavern Brawl or the Wild Format!

“My Collection” Button (Adventure Mode and Deck Selection)

It was always a pain to navigate back to your collection if you wanted to make any changes to your Adventure Mode decks. Now, you can just click the My Collection button that appears at the bottom of the screen when you want to edit a deck!

General

• Pre-purchase Whispers of the Old Gods
  • Pre-purchase a “Whispers of the Old Gods” 50 card pack bundle from the in-game shop and unlock a special card back. Whispers of the Old Gods packs cannot be opened until the expansion launches, which will be before May 31, 2016, however, the card back is available immediately!
• Unlock up to 18 deck slots!
  • Gain access to 9 additional deck slots by unlocking all nine Hearthstone Heroes, bringing your total number of deck slots to 18.
  • If you’ve already unlocked all nine Heroes, your new deck slots are waiting for you in the Collection Manager: just delete or edit the Basic decks you’ll find in your deck list.
• Many improvements have been made to the Collection Manager.
  • Deck Recipes are now available in the Collection Manager. Use Deck Recipes to quickly experiment with some new deck ideas.
  • Right-clicking on card backs in the Collection Manager reveals an improved display. So fancy!
  • When building decks, the “Suggest a Card” feature is now smarter about its recommendations.
  • It is now possible to search for cards with new search terms, including Attack, Health, Cost, Golden, etc.
  • A more complete listing of all the new functions will be revealed in an upcoming blog.
• We have begun preparing for the arrival of Standard and Wild formats with new UI elements.
• The following Hero portrait has been added:
  • Liadrin – The new Paladin hero is obtained through an upcoming World of Warcraft promotion.

• Hearthstone has been localized into Thai. Players around the globe can now enjoy Hearthstone in 14 different languages!
• The following card backs have been added:
  • Hogger – Acquired at the end of the month by reaching Rank 20 or higher in Ranked Play mode during the month of March 2016.
    
  • Eyes of C’Thun – Acquired by pre-purchasing Whispers of the Old Gods.
    
  • Overwatch – Acquired by purchasing the Overwatch: Origins Edition.
    
• Bonuses provided by Enrage effects now work correctly after a minion’s Attack and Health values have been swapped.
• [iPads with iOS 9.0.2+] Resolved an issue that could cause Hearthstone to crash when launched with the device held in certain orientations.
• [Android] Resolved visual issues that could occur with the League of Explorer’s card back and after League of Explorer matches on Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge+ devices.
• Resolved various issues with AI behavior and gameplay.
• Fixed various audio, graphical, and UI issues.
