Update: Day 3 of the tournament is now live! The final round of Twitch drops is active, get 2 more packs for watching the stream for 2 hours. In case you’re looking for player line-ups, you can find all of them here.
The official date for Hearthstone World Championship 2024 was announced last week, and now we have even more details. The tournament is bigger than last year (16 players instead of 8) because of the return of Chinese competitors (as you might remember, their server was down last year due to a dispute with NetEase). The prize pool has also been increased from $350k (last year) to $500k (this year) to accommodate the 8 extra players. Does it mean that Blizzard will scale up its esports program next year? It’s too early to say, but we can only hope so. For now, let’s focus on the most important competitive event of this year.
Masters Tour: World Championship 2024 happens this weekend (December 13-15). Streams will start at 7 AM PT / 4 PM CET each day. You can watch it on Twitch or YouTube, but I assume that we’ll also have a bunch of co-streams from pro players (for example, Feno and PocketTrain have already announced theirs).
While we don’t have any info whether there’s a balance patch coming before the event, it’s probably safe to assume that it’s too late for that and it’s going to be played on the current version. But, as always, we’ll keep you updated.
Twitch drops will also be active. Watch the tournament on the official Twitch channel to earn up to six The Great Dark Beyond card packs – up to 2 per day of the event. We still don’t know how long you will need to watch to earn the packs. (Update: It’s 2h for 2 packs.) Just make sure that your Twitch and Battle.net accounts are connected if you haven’t done it already.

Not really 2 hours per pack. It seems more like simultaneously
Yeah, I fixed that after a few hours, I thought it’s 2h per pack at the start but it turns out that you get both at the same time.
Be prepared for many disconnections due to Titan play/discover cards
The bug was just fixed today. There was no way they would leave it up for World Championship, haha.
I bet if they had to correct a bug in the shop (like you cant spend real money) they would have closed the client to fix it the same day….
