Hearthstone Heroic Tavern Brawl Deck Lists and Information

This week’s Tavern Brawl is a big change in pace. Heroic Tavern Brawl allows you test your luck against some of the best players in an Arena-esque tournament style event. You lock in your Standard deck and play until 12 wins or 3 losses. The cost of doing business? 1,000 gold or $9.99 USD! This seems steep, but the rewards for 12 wins are a whopping 50 Whispers of the Old Gods packs, 3 random Golden Legendaries, and 1k+ in Gold and Arcane Dust.

I will be listing the decks pros and streamers lock into for their Tavern Brawls, so stay tuned! Which deck did you use? Add it with our Hearthstone Deck Builder and post the link in the comments and we’ll add it below!

Heroic Brawl

Make a Standard deck to compete with the best! Stakes are high, the competition intense. More wins means more rewards. Can you make it to 12 wins, or will 3 losses end your run?

Some Recommended Deck Lists

Midrange Shaman is likely the best deck in the game. The deck only has one main weakness, which is Freeze Mage. Fortunately for Shaman, Freeze Mage is hard countered by Control Warrior which will likely see enough play to make Freeze Mage difficult to run.

One of the best all-around decks and thrives in a high legend meta.
Control Warrior has a decent matchup against Midrange Shaman, and can win a lot of other general matchups.
This is the best Mage deck right now, and does pretty well against most decks.
One of the most consistently strong decks in Hearthstone history. It’s not top tier right now, but could be a solid option to bring into the Brawl.

I feel like there are just legions of bad / cheap players complaining about Heroic Brawl. It’s not a scam or a ripoff and you only have to be middle of the pack to actually make value on your purchase… for the same price of entry ($9.99) you could just straight up buy 7 packs… even if you only win 5 games you get 6 packs plus enough gold to basically give you 7 packs, not to mention the dust and the play experience. And to those that actually hit 8 or more wins it’s all profit… stop whining about your free pack and spend the small amount of money to be competitive.

The absolute WORST brawl ever. What a scam!

I mean, on average a player can only get 3 wins. 4 packs, 120 gold and 120 dust just don’t quite repay the entrance fee. Nah, thanks. Even Kripp barely managed 3 wins with his freeze mage.

In this taver only the top player will play. So if you want to face a pro this is the time! i dont have 1 000 gold, and i’m very casual player, so i will just watch some strem.

Went 8-3 with the wtyBill’s Tempo Mage. http://i.imgur.com/ZSH8tjY.jpg

Even though I have quite a lot of gold and I’m confident that I would at least break even, I won’t probably play more. In my 11 games, I’ve faced 7 Midrange Shamans – 30% Midrange Shaman frequency on the ladder is already too much for me, from what I’ve seen on the streams and my own experience, in this Brawl it’s over 50%. It’s fun as an one time experience, it’s also fun to watch other people play it, but I don’t think I can handle more Shamanfest.

Also, it would be SO MUCH BETTER after the Gadgetzan release. When the meta isn’t figured out yet it would be much more fun. And the Gadgetzan packs are way better than the WoG packs – pretty much every at least semi-competitive player has all the necessary WoG cards already, so it’s all dust. I mean, this decision makes sense from the business perspective – less gold before the new expansion, rewarding old packs which are much less useful… But I bet that the Brawl would attract WAY more people if if wasn’t Shaman all the time. I like the idea and I would like to play more, but facing Shaman after Shaman just isn’t fun for me.

I agree it would be way better after the Gadgetzan release. I have to say though, it has been super hyped up all day on Twitch. This is one of the first times in a while where there’s been real excitement around the game other than the expansion announcement. It’s really more about watching your favorite streamer go through the gauntlet rather than playing it yourself.

Yep, this one was really important. It was the first time I’ve seen Hearthstone as the #1 game on Twitch in a while. It’s a great event for the streamers, because most of the players can’t afford to play HTB themselves, but they like to watch their favorites in the competitive environment, especially with such a huge rewards on the line. So I’ll have to give them that – more exciting events like that would be great for the game in the future.

But hey, now imagine how many viewers if would attract right after new expansion… One can only dream.

My friend and I went in with a counter mage for the midrange shaman’s and went 12-2. After 6 wins the only decks I played were shaman’s other than the occasional warlock. As long as you know that midrange shaman will be the top played deck, using a counter deck get’s you rather far.

Just no. Currently the highest ranked player in the world, Xixo, barely managed 6 wins. So what can average joe hope to achieve? Waste 10 bucks, that’s what.

Does this require you to only use your cards, or are all standard decks cards in play and available to be used?

No One but the elite will play this, will be interesting to see how many top prizes are won, a dozen perhaps?

2-3 weeks for the new expansion and Blizzard asks us to exchange gold for Old Gods packs?
Even if I was a great player with chances of 7+ victories, what difference a bunch of Old Gods packs do right now?

Yep, +1. God forbid they make it extra fun by releasing it when the new expansion comes out. Who wants old God packs right now? Everyone is just gonna dust basically, so not very fun.
