Hearthstone Hallow’s End Event – The Great Hallow’s End Arena Costume Party, Free Packs, and New Tavern Brawl!

The Hearthstone Hallow’s End Event introduces some free packs for logging in, an Arena event where you will choose a hero and then choose a hero power, and there will be a special Headless Horseman Rides Tavern Brawl!

Make sure to finish any Arena run you have before the event starts by October 24th or it will be automatically retired!

  • Log in between Oct. 24 at 11:00 a.m. PDT and 10:00 p.m. PDT on Oct. 30 to receive one Whispers of the Old Gods card pack and an Arena ticket.
  • Log in between Oct. 31 at 12:01 am PDT and 10:00 p.m. PST on Nov. 5 to receive one Knights of the Frozen Throne card pack and an Arena ticket.

The time has come! Do you feel fear?

For Hearthstone’s Hallow’s End is near!

It’s the Headless Horseman’s favorite time of year, so from October 24 through November 6, he’s hosting a blowout Hallow’s End celebration for everyone in the tavern! If you dare to brave a tavern decked in delightfully dreary Hallow’s End decorations, then you’ll find that your horrific host has also planned some spine-tingling treats and chilling challenges!

Tempting Treats

Once each week during the celebration, the Headless Horseman is handing out a creepy card pack and an Arena ticket just for logging in!

The Great Hallow’s End Arena Costume Party

During Hallow’s End you can experience an all-new dual class Arena Mode* with an added twist: Each of the nine classic Hearthstone Heroes will be attending in costume!

When you start an Arena run during Hallow’s End, you’ll choose a Hero, then a Hero Power, and the cards offered in your picks will feature cards from BOTH of those classes, in addition to neutral cards. And don’t forget, you’ll get a free Arena ticket just for logging in each week, so there’s no excuse not to attend the party!

A Tricky Tavern Brawl

The Headless Horseman Rides is a special Hallow’s End Tavern Brawl that will run from Oct. 25 to 28.

The Headless Horseman has been marauding through the countryside, and it’s up to you to stop him! You’ll go in disguise to catch the fiend by surprise—after the Brawl begins, you’ll get to Discover which costume you’ll wear. Each costume has its own deck featuring cards from several classes and, for the first time, a passive Hero Power that you’ll need to make the most of if you want to succeed at sinking the sinister specter!

There’s a feast of fearsome fun to be had at the Headless Horseman’s Hallow’s End hootenanny. Don’t forget to check out a Hallow’s End Fireside Gatherings Tavern near you and get Nemsy Necrofizzle as the celebration continues!

We hope you’ll join us, and we wish you a HA! HA! HAPPY HALLOW’S END!

* NOTE: If you have an Arena run in progress when Hallow’s End begins on October 24, then it will be retired and you’ll receive the normal rewards for the number of wins you achieved and a free Arena ticket. In the hours just before the beginning and conclusion of Hallow’s End on October 24 and November 6, it will temporarily be impossible to purchase a new Arena ticket.

What would be the best class combination for this? I was thinking probably hunter with a mage hero power maybe. Any other suggestions?

“Make sure to finish any Arena run you have before the event starts by October 24th or it will be automatically retired!”

Wait, isn’t it the other way around? You get a free ticket if your Arena run gets retired, in addition to all the rewards from it and the extra ticket everyone gets just for logging in.
So you pretty much want to have an unfinished Arena, that way you get to play two Arena runs after only paying once , so 2 packs minimum guaranteed for 150 gold AND another free Arena run from the event itself.

Can we confirm we get a free ticket if the Arena run is retired?

It says right there at the very bottom:

“* NOTE: If you have an Arena run in progress when Hallow’s End begins on October 24, then it will be retired and you’ll receive the normal rewards for the number of wins you achieved and a free Arena ticket.”

That’s from the official Blizzard blogpost.
Unless this is just referring to the free Arena ticket everyone gets just for logging in regardless of their Arena status, but that would be a dick move.

I will not finish my run, but instead leave it at two losses.

I will not finish the run and leave it at two losses.
That’s how I believe I can get the most out of it.
