Based on data-mining the event will last three weeks. Each week you will get a free Arena run ticket, and you will get another quest that will reward you with a Knights of the Frozen Throne pack for playing three Arena games. The packs will be available to open once the expansion is released.

Hmmm – I just completed an Arena run last night; decided I still don’t really enjoy it and I’m still really bad at it (I’ve done 7 runs and average 1.5 wins per run)… thought I was going to do a bit better last time; won the first 2… lost the next 3.
Oh well – I suppose 3 free runs will get me some extra practice… but like Marvin the paranoid android, I won’t enjoy it 😐
Is it one time quest or repeatable?
Should I use all the gold I saved (like 2k) to play arenas? My best arena run is 2 wins :V
Or should I save it for card packs? I already bought the 50 pack pre release.
Save the gold. The only reason you should play arena is if your good at it. (no offence)
I am in the same situation with 3.5k gold but I’m saving it for packs. Don’t want to gamble it all on arena.(I’m also not that great at arena- around 4 wins each time)
For this event you get a “free win” for each arena. Unless you only want to collect cards from the new set, it’s much more efficient to play arena. Also, unless you played Hearthstone nearly all day, it would be difficult to blow through all of the gold quickly. I understand that you said you weren’t great at arena, but I played 1 run today and got 10 wins. It was a net gain of 300+ gold. HearthArena is a great tool to help you draft a solid deck.
This is what I’m trying to get at though. There are people that aren’t good at arena. Sure, you got ten wins but that’s rare for more than half of normal hearthstone players. I’m saying for most people, including myself, it would just be better to save.
If i was you. Do not use al the gold on arena. Just play the quest for 3 weeks. Your first match is free starting with a win your other 2 you pay for it. Cost 300 coins for 3 packs and the rest is just bonus. Pretty good deal. Even your average will make it 3 wins. You can see a guide on hearthstone top deck to improve your arena skills.
