Update: All 35 cards are now revealed! Find them below!
The latest Hearthstone mini-set was just announced. It’s called Deadmines, after a very iconic WoW dungeon placed in Westfall, ran by Defias Brotherhood (Edwin VanCleef was their leader, and after he died it was taken over by his daughter – Vanessa VanCleef). You can read more about the Deadmines’ lore here.
Deadmines will release with Patch 21.6, on Tuesday (November 2). Once the mini-set is out, we’ll be on the lookout for any new decks to post!
Here’s a full list of cards from Deadmines mini-set. Click on any of them to go to that card’s page and see more details + community discussion.
So, after 35 full cards, not very tempting to buy a full purchase, a few good pirate cards, more paladin handbuffs, and that’s it (last one probably DH card draw).
But then, there will be new achievements with miniset, so yeah. We’ll see.
Lucky enough, the miniset only gonna be here for about a month,
Minus ~14 days for teaser, trailer, and card reveals for next expansion,
Minus ~7 days for trying to complete the miniset achievements, because last time, the patch arrives first and replaced Barren’s XP bonus with Stormwind’s.
Or is it unlucky that the timespan so short?
Ah, you guys be the judge.
So the winner are:
Pirate warrior
Dark priest & dark pirate priest (in wild)
Quest DH
A new cheapo rogue deck which will include garrote
Maybe Murlock shaman
Maybe aggro Druid
Maybe quest warlock
Maybe a new pirate rogue
Hearthstone had secret counter all the time. So I hope there’s some Quest-counter this time.
A way to halt quest progress, or worst case, terminate it.
I’m saying there must be a way to solve the quest “easy win” situation.
Maybe a minion effect like Mindbreaker that goes “Quest are disabled” as long as this minion on board.
I’m still hoping for a Loatheb effect that lingers for a few turns (increase spells cost by 3, then 2 next turn, then 1)
I’m all in for some more disruption, but that sounds painful to be honest. If you play a spell-based deck you could basically just concede against something like that.
Maybe 2->1, but handicapping opponent for 3 turns is too much IMO.
Better counterplay:
“Battlecry: Your opponents spells cost (1) more next turn. If they play a spell, repeat this battlecry”.
They want spells? They’ll be paying for them, hard.
Dumbest idea I’ve ever heard
Dumbest reply I’ve ever saw. At least put something to the weight of your judgment, else I’m gonna start throwing sh*ts at this.
“I’ve ever saw”
Why would Blizzard add something that completely removes the win condition of quest decks? May as well kiss them goodbye. Quests are also no “easy win”
I mentioned the yogg secret below. But also Mutanus does this as well especially for a no minion mage deck.
So the cards do exist.
Throwback to how dumb you were over a year ago
It rarely “works” but the yogg secret can do this. Usually costs the player their coin if they know what they are doing. But the few times you actually yogg the quest its pretty spectacular.
That’s a pretty low chance btw, plus there’s a workaround even with Mutanus, and players is not that stupid anymore.
And if they won’t make the disruption happen, then I’ll just enjoy my Quest Warrior meta until they see how ridiculously strong that Legendary Pirate is, and decide to ‘ban’ it in a about week or so. (probably nerfed, but I don’t really care anymore).
If your running quest pirate you certainly made out with this set. Mr. Smite definitely looks poised for a future nerf. Your other Pirates have charge?
Just compare that card to Leroy Jenkins if you want a great example of power creep.
I know the odds are low to pull off one of those quest killers but they probably should be. What’s the work around for Mutanus?
There also the minion that increase spell cost for the next turn, that’s seen a lot of play. Certainly hinders QL Mage/Shaman/DH.
so many filler cards already. rogue/dh threaten to otk you by turn 7/8, most of those 4/5cost cards do next to nothing (to prevent the otk). really hope the legendaries will justify buying the expansion.
A good expansion for hunter and warrior but minion types that don’t synergize with your class can often be doa.
