(Update: Free PiP Pack) Golden Harth Stonebrew And a Few Packs to Be Given Away for Free Over the Next Month

Update (August 28): The final free Perils in Paradise pack is now available.

Update (August 21): The Golden Pack issue was finally fixed, so the gifts continue. You can now claim a free Perils in Paradise pack from the shop. Also, if you haven’t claimed your Golden Pack previously because of the problems, you have another week to do so.

Update (August 14): The next wave of free packs has been postponed due to the issue preventing many players from claiming them, which is still unresolved. Blizzard keeps working on the problem. (Source)

Update (August 9): Some players have issues when claiming Golden Pack – it gets claimed but doesn’t get added to your account. If you ran into that issue, don’t worry, Blizzard is aware and working on a fix.

Update (August 7): You can now claim a free Golden Perils in Paradise card back from the shop. Golden Harth Stonebrew will be available for another week.

Blizzard just made a surprising announcement. Over the next four weeks (August 1-28), players will be able to claim some free gifts from the shop.

The biggest reward is a Golden version of Harth Stonebrew. While the regular version was given out to everyone as a part of the 10th Anniversary celebration, the Golden one (together with Diamond version and some packs) was sold in a bundle for real money. Players didn’t really like this decision and hoped that Blizzard would reconsider and give the Golden version as a part of the event itself (the paid Diamond version was understandable, but it didn’t make much sense to have Golden in the same bundle). It’s safe to say that everyone has gave up hope a long time ago, but it looks like they HAVE reconsidered.

Players will be able to claim Golden Harth starting today and until August 14. If you previously purchased the bundle including him, you will get a 1000 Runestones refund. Other than Harth, players will be able to claim 1 Golden and 2 Regular Perils in Paradise Card Packs. We’ll post reminders whenever a new reward is available, so don’t worry about missing them.

The whole giveaway feels like compensation for the recent Perils in Paradise board debacle, and while that problem still exists, I won’t say no to more freebies.

Note: as of today, there seems to be a bug with claiming the free Golden Perils pack. (Can claim in shop but it does not appear in the opening packs section.) Blizzard is aware and working to fix the issue.
